CP- Size of your Bed

I feel like I have no more freaking room, with Jay and 4 cats when we sleep at night.

Zero sleeps at my feet, and as much as I try to kick him off, he just keeps coming back.

The others sleep in weird positions, and than Jay just likes the middle.

I'm thinking of upgrading beds.

Re: CP- Size of your Bed

  • We have a king and seriously if there were something larger than a cali. king I would get it! It's DH, me, the dog and (2) 23 lb cats. Seriously I get the very edge of the bed and the others get the rest. Some mornings I feel like punching a cat for sleeping on my pillow when it's my only ME space in the bed!

  • I could never go smaller than a king in the future, thats what we have and love it, worth every penny.  I like having my own space to truly sleep, not butted up against DH.

I have a memory foam mattress that I love love love that I got off of overstock for $400 and it is the most amazing bed in the entire world. I have one large cat and he sleeps between me and DH.

  • We have a King and it's great for me. DH's feet don't always fit, so if there was something longer, we'd get it.

  • We have a queen, and I like it because we are closer together.  Whenever we are in a hotel king bed, I feel like DH is on the other side of the room from me!  I like a more "snuggly" type bed.

  • I love our king-sized bed.  It's only the two of us, but we both like to have the option to spread out or snuggle if we want.  We're on vacation right now and we have a queen in the room and I hate it - I feel so squished!

  • DH and I both need our space when we sleep. That and the fact that our 80 pound lab has to be right in the middle left us mighty cramped in our old queen. We upgraded to a king shortly after we moved in together.

I read somewhere that a Cali king is longer, but not wider than a regular king. Just curious since you own one if you know that that is the case?

    Thanks!

OMG I never thought of looking there, but I just took a peek. I saw the Serta one which has great reviews. Is that the brand you have? We have a King frame that goes with out bedroom set that we're not using because we haven't bought the mattress yet.

  • We have a queen, but 90% of the time only one of us is in it at a time.  We only sleep together one or two nights a week due to his work schedule.  I have the worst time sleeping when he's there with me and I hate that.  We also sleep with 2 10lb dogs, but they aren't bed hogs usually LOL!

All of this exactly. Except for the cat.

The Overstock memory foam thing is one of the best things I ever bought in my entire life.

  • We slept on a full for the longest time. We finally bought a king (tempur pedic aka heavenly) back in July. I absolutely love it! All the extra room is fantastic! The only downside is we used to cuddle more when we had a smaller bed. Mostly it was because we had no room to do anything else... But I miss snuggling with my honey every night Embarrassed

  • We have a king and struggle if we are in anything smaller. I'm a bit of a mover and shaker in my sleep and am known to kick, push and move DH around.

The king bed was the best move ever. I struggled at first with not being all snuggly like my queen was, but we just start out curled up in the middle and as the night goes on move around to our respective sides.
