Trying to Get Pregnant

TESTS

So Tomm i will be 8DPO and 3days before expected AF and even though it's a tad bit too early to test i'm having MH go to the store tonight and get a blue dye test. I'm afraid if i am KU that it will take twice as long to get a + with a pink test like it was when i was KU with DD.

Has anyone else had better results with a blue vs pink or pink vs blue?

Re: TESTS

  • Actually, I have heard that blue dye tests ar more likely to give you a false positive.

I have heard this too... but if you go to the hospital, they use the blue dye tests... I dunno really how different they are...  maybe you should pee on both and see what they say??  Big Smile  Let us know!

  • Pink dye tests are known to be more accurate...it would be worth it to me to wait. Oh and you wouldn't have to wait two weeks to test with a pink dye.

  • Blue dye tests aren't reliable. Would you rather wait longer, or have a false positive followed by being disappointed that you're not actually pregnant? If you're charting, you should have a pretty good indication that you're KU if you get to 18+DPO, with or without a +pink test.

I have heard this a lot but when i got pregnant with DD the blue ones came up first then the pink ones (usually dollar store) came up faint then got darkerand darker along with the blue. But i know if i want a urine test to be done to see if i'm pregnant i need the pink ones to show because that's what they use at the clinic here. When i got pregnant with DD the red ones were pretty ok to see (First response) but the dollar store ones were worse and i think thats what they used because they called saying it was inconclusive so i got a blood test to conform a +

  • I would wait a few more days and use a pink dye test.  I've heard way too many false positive (or inconclusive) results with the blue ones.  I got a + on a FRER at 12 dpo with DS#1.  I would wait until at least 10 dpo to test.

    11 dpo : 51%
    12 dpo : 62%
    13 dpo : 68%

This.  And, I have a feeling you know this already.  Otherwise, you would have simply told us that he was going to get a test (with no specification) for you.

I do, just wondering if everyone had a preference,  Mine is blue even though the reviews are bad my experience in the past wasn't a false positive and i've taken them in the past 6months i have been trying and always negative.

  • This post confuses me and someone correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you say last might you had ben testing since 3dpo because you had plenty of tests and wanted to see the line get darker like an OPK? Why would you be getting more tests?

  • Maybe it's because I'm hungry, but I'm so confused.  If you know blue dye tests give false positives and aren't as reliable, then what exactly are you asking, and why?

That only works if the BFP isn't an evap line.

Because I was impressed because she used vowels this time. I let the early testing slide for good behavior.

  • Pink Dye, Blue Dye, Purple Dye doesn't make a difference in how quickly a test will show positive, but the sensitivity of the test will make a difference. You want a test that can detect 25 miu/ml.

LMAO YES!  I was like, wait, did her husband ovulate too?  Definitely had to reread it a few times.  But I've had to reread pretty much everything she's written, so...

Maybe it has something do with vowels, but I'm leaning more towards the punctuation factor.

    ETA: spelling
