I had my first u/s at 6w2d and they only saw a sac. My RE was not optimistic and said I had a 95% chance of m/c. She had me come back in a week. I tried to prepare myself for the worst for the next appt and it was a really rough week. Last week at 7w2d, I went in and was shocked when she said she saw a fetal pole and lo and behold she saw a flickering heart beat. However, the embryo only measured 6w1d instead of 7w2d. She didn't measure the hb (I don't think she could) and said at this point to be "cautiously optimistic" and they released me to the OB. I think it's a 50/50 chance. She said to make sure the new OB did an u/s within 2 weeks.
I have an appt. on 1/4 with a new OB (I'll be 9w2d), but it's just an initial appt. with a nurse and then hopefully she'll send me for the u/s. If the tech can't tell me what she sees, it'll be several days before I get those results.
In the meantime, I'm terrified. I don't have any m/s (and didn't the first time, when I m/c at 13 weeks, and know that maybe I'm just lucky). Has anyone had a similar experience? I'm trying to be optimistic, but it's so hard some days!
Re: Anyone else measure really behind? In limbo and terrified!
After two losses, third time was a charm.

Unfortunately, my last pregnancy was very similar and it did not end well. I would demand another ultrasound on the 4th to check on the growth and heart rate.
I'll be praying that your baby continues to grow and the heart beat gets stronger.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
This...also, it sounds like you have a fighter in there! Hang in there!!
The waiting must be agony.
I am not an expert but I think that if they saw a heartbeat, that is very, very good! I know my baby B measured a bit behind at first but he caught up.
Best of luck and keep us posted. I hope the time flies for you.
