Bladder infection question....

Ive had several bladder infections in my life but never one like this. I ave a fever of 101.3 and I am bleeding (not my time of the month). I just got this today! I dont have health insurance right now (starting a new one next month). So, should I worry and go to the docs and just pay for it or not worry an drink cranberry juice and water? WDYT?

I have been the queen of UTI's my whole life so bad that i had a stent put in my ureter about 5 years ago to stop the back up of urine (sorry TMI) after 5 years of no UTIs i have one now. My advice have you tried AZO Standard Maximum Strength?? I would do that with 100 percent cranberry juice.

BUT... you must be careful with you running a fever this could go into your kidneys. If you continue with a fever, chills and get blood in your urine i would go to an urgent care center ASAP.

Uh, sorry to say but I definitely think you should go see a doc! The fever sounds normal (for an infection), but the bleeding sounds like it has gotten pretty bad. I'd guess you'll probably need anitibiotics, and if you're bleeding it probably shouldnt' wait another month until your new insurance kicks in. Hope you feel better soon

The fever and blood could be a sign of a kidney infection so yes I would go to the doctor. Google anatomy and kidney so you know where it is and then push on that area a bit to see if it really hurts. I had a kidney infection as a kid and I got real sick really fast so it you start to get significantly worse as the day goes on I would head right to your doc or urgent care center. Also ask if they can give you a cash discount, most places will if you ask but if you don't they charge you a fortune. Heck you don't even get the discount your insurance co would.

Ugh! I was afraid of this. I do have crazy chills, fever and bleeding! Well, I guess when DH comes home I will go to the doc!!! I know I sound crazy but the urgent care is like45 minutes away and soo expensive....woud it be bad to wait for just te doc tomorrow?

If they can get you in tomorrow then wait if not i would go to UC. They will be able to give you an antibiotic tonite. Obviously call first to even make sure there open thats a long drive for nothing. I hope you feel better (:
