Trying to Get Pregnant

PSA: This is why you should ALWAYS temp!

Ugh...so confused with my chart! I didn't temp this cycle, and am kicking myself for not.

I got a + OPK on CD 16 (or 15 I can't remember) so here I am on 16DPO and CD 33, I have taken 2 tests, both BFN. So today I did an OPK since I was out of IC's, and it was positive as positive can be. I've never turned one so dark before. Well, I got super excited and took an HPT, and it was a BFN.

So, because I haven't temped this cycle, I have no idea if I really O'd on CD 17 like I thought. Awesome.

Do you think it's too late for me to start temping...since I got the +OPK, I doubt my period is on its way anytime soon....what do you think?

  • I think you need to find DH and have some sexy timeWink

  • Personally, I would probably go ahead and start temping if that's what you're leaning towards. I know by the temperature range whether or not I'm getting pre-O or post-O temps, so if you're able to tell those also, I say give it a shot.

  • I don't know if it would be too late to start, but I don't think it would hurt either. You would at least get some idea of where and what your temp is doing now. On your past cycles temping does your coverline or temps have a particular pattern that you can gage your temp starting at this point in your cycle. This maybe a dumb question, but did you use the same urine for the hpt that you used for the opk? GL and I hope it all works out.

Yep, same cup o' pee! I think I will start temping tomorrow am, I just wanna kick myself for not temping, and of course the one cycle I choose NOT to temp, it's all wacked out.

I agree.  My temps are pretty consistent cycle to cycle, and after a few days I could probably tell if I had O-ed or not.

Of course, my fingers are crossed for you that the HPT will turn positive soon!

  • I think your too late to temp this cycle sorry
  • if you have consistent temps you coudl temp to see if your temp is above your normal coverline or not.  I did this last cycle b/c i'm fed up with temping and not gp.  We found out i have no cycle issues but my DH has sperm issues so I'm done for a while testing.  Trying to do the just relax techinque.

This!  I started at the end of my first cycle and other than showing a clear temp drop and impending AF, it got me into the routine.  Good luck, I know it is frustrating!

    Yes

This.  I temped before I started charting last cycle and it helped me recognize how my temps would look. If you have been charting for a while and know your temp history you may be able to glean some info and if not it def cant hurt anything
