All these posts about books are giving me the itch for a good book. What do you ladies recommend? I was thinking about starting on the Sookie Stackhouse novels.
Yes!!! Great series. As I put in my post: I am waiting the new books to the following series (if you're wanting a good series): Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich, Wicked by Janet Evanovich, and Sookie. Right now I'm reading The Deep End of the Ocean, the Queen Betsy Undead series book 4, and Pictures of You by Caroline Leavitt. I am a reading fool...What kind of books do you like???
Been married since 2009. Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter) Several MCs DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
I like murder mystery-type books. I am reading Stieg Larsson's trilogy, but out of order. Oops. I read "The Girl Who Played With Fire" already and now I am reading "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." My Mom got me "Dog On It" by Spencer Quinn for Christmas, so that's next.

Last year I got DH Devil In the White City (they're about to make a movie out of it starring Leo Dicaprio...ugh). It's about the serial killer HH Holmes and how the city reacted to all the murders. He really liked it. Also, he and I both enjoyed Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz which is somewhat a mystery.

Thanks p.s. I follow your blog and I loved the Stephanie Plum series. I haven't read them all, but the ones I have were great!

I want to read those novels, I am a HUGE Trueblood fan.
I just got done reading "Heaven is for real" what a quick read, but quite eye opening!! Not too sure what my next one will be. I did just download the girl with the dragon tattoo. I might wait until we figure out what book the TTC book club will read.
Oooo, I am jumping back in for one more recommendation for mystery lovers... I realllly love Harlan Coben's books. I have read 4 or 5 of them. I just finished Play Dead, his first novel, on our cruise. Loved it!

It's interesting and easy to follow, and I'm also learning a lot. We went to see the Christmas Day re-enactment of Washington crossing the Delaware this year, so I picked up this book at the library beforehand to get a deeper understanding. I highly recommend it.

Doozer- I like Jodi Picoult, Jennifer Weiner, Jen Lancaster (LOVE her!), Dan Brown... I started reading the Stephanie Plum series a while back (like, 10 years back lol) but I think only got past 3 or 4. I can't remember. I like to mix it up a bit though!

I have heard that they are very different. I still think it would be fun to read them. I wouldn't buy the books but I know a friend has the series, so that'l help. Both the storyline and the characters are very different arent they?

They've added some characters and didn't kill off some characters that were in the books. The seasons start out the same as the books and end the same, but everything in the middle is totally different Lots of yummy eye candy though. They did awesome on casting Alcide!

I just finished The Girl Who Played With Fire, the second in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.
A while back I read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and really, really loved it. The way he tells the story is a bit odd and took a little time to get used to, but once you do, it's a really good read.

I'm reading Hands Off My Belly. It's a book about TTC and pregnancy myths and old wives tales and the medicine and science behind them. It's very good. There's actually info in there about everything from guaifenesin to miscarriages to gender myths. Highly recommended.

I've gotten into historical fiction lately. I just finished Cleopatra's daughter and now I'm reading Nerfertiti. Both books by Michelle Moran. Her next novel is about Madame Tussaud and the French Revolution.

Miracle and Other Christmas Stories by Connie Willis. Just a collection of short stories by one of my favorite authors, I like to re-read it around Christmas time.

I loved both of these!! There is a 3rd one in the series about ancient Egypt, I think it might be Nefertiti's Daughter or something like that. They're all great. I also love Phillipa Gregory in this category [she wrote Other Bolyen Girl and about 5 others].
In terms of other non-fiction, I'm about to start one called Planet of Slums about the slums of the world [an interest because we're in Kenya].
Anyone else have any non-fiction recommendations?
