New SA result :(

So, when we did our last IUI on NYE last year, we found DH's 1% morphology.

We just got another SA b/c we are in the middle of IVF #2.

0% normal morph

100% with head defects   :(

 

I guess this was the same as when we did IVF # 1 in February.

SA results from 2/15/10:

20 million/mL, 35% motility, grade 2-3 and 0% normal morph

Sa results from 12/27/10:

42 million/mL, 25% motility, grade 12, 0% normal morph

 

Depressing....we went to a male IF MD last year and have been taking expensive supplements all year (and the numbers look worse)....

Wedding Fall 2007 Off OCP's since 9/08-started with BBT charts Saw Ob/gyn May 2009 Blood work normal except single copy of MTHFR Clomid 50mg May 2009 Clomid 50mg + IUI June 2009 Femara 5mg + IUI July 2009 Normal HSG July 2009 Femara 5mg + ovidrel+IUI August 2009 Femara 5mg +ovidrel + IUI September 2009 November 2009-normal lap December 2009-met with RE December/January-Injectible med cycle with IUI-Abnormal sperm morpology found-only 0-1% normal All Head defects. Jan/Feb 2010 1st IVF with ICSI-5 week chemical pregnancy :( Feb 2010-male infertility doc says DH's anatomy and blood work are normal so nothing he can do. :( FET July 2010-BFP! Twin m/c @ 5.5 wks :( Dec/Jan 2011 IVF #2 Only 4 eggs retrieved-Ganirelix dose messed up BFFN Feb/March 2011 IVF #3 ER 3/9 9 eggs, 7 fertilized, ET 3/14, No frosties. BFN IVF #4 ER 8/22 9R,7F ET 8/25-3 embies, 1 frostie! Beta 9/2= 54, 9/6=274, 9/8=625, 9/12=2953, 9/16 greater than 10,000. B/G TWINS born April 2012 @ 36wks & 1 day! July 2014-going back for the frozen embryo! ET 7/28, heartbeat seen at 6wks1day with SCH. Miscarriage confirmed at 6wks4days

    I'm sorry. That's heartbreaking after the supplements all year, it makes it even harder. I hope the Dr's can come up with some sort of plan for you. I'm not very knowledgeable in MFI so I'm not sure what the options are. But ((HUGS)) to you and your DH, I'm sure this is very deflating to him.

    I'm so sorry hun! I know how disappointing it is to go through a year of meds and not have that help. Dh and I are dealing with MFI as well and his meds haven't really helped at all. ((Big Hugs)).   Are they able to do ICSI or TESE to see if they can get better soldiers?  :)

    RE definiitely does ICSI. We got 12 eggs with IVF #1, 8 fertilized with ICSI and 5 made it to blastocyst (but a c/p and m/c). :(

    So,  I guess ICSI "fixes" the morph issue.

    But it's pretty depressing that it is so unlikely that we'll EVER conceive w/o IVF and ICSI!

    Neither will we, but at least science has come as far as it has.  Not too long ago we would've been SOL with our MFI diagnosis.

    I'm so sorry!  I can see where that would be totally depressing.  We also didn't have any luck with the supplements - SO annyoing especially they are so expensive.  I wish you the best with this IVF cycle!

    Dx -Ute cancer, DOR from cancer treatments, and embryo quality issues. NOV 2010 CANCER FREE
    2005-2011= 3 Rounds of Clomid, 5 IUI's, 3 IVF's- ALL BFN's
    After 7yrs TTC, 5yrs of ute cancer, and 11 failed IF treatments, we got a surprise BFP! So thankful!
