Getting ready

So since I'm already dialating and LO isn't supposed to be born until February. I think I'm gonna start getting everything ready for him. I need to install his car seat and get his room ready. When it comes to washing his clothes and sheets, do I need a special detergent or will any brand do fine?

    I already use a free and clear detergent, so I washed all of LOs stuff in that.  Dh and I both have sensitive skin.  I know a lot of the ladies use the free and clear for washing their baby stuff too.

    I don't use anything special on the baby's clothes. You can if you want but unless you notice that your LO has sensitive skin, there really is no need to. It is a personal preference.

    Dreft is full of chemicals - not sure how they get a way with claiming to be good for babies.  I'd pick up some free and clear.  We use it anyway because everything seems to give me rash since I've been pregnant.

    We use All Free & Clear, or whatever it's called, but truly, I'd recommend a clean-rinsing detergent. I haven't bit the bullet yet and spent the money on any, but wow, my friends who use it can't believe the difference. Normal detergents (even the "baby" ones or the free & clear ones...basically, anything that you can buy at Wal-Mart, Target, etc.), leave behind residues on your clothes that you may not be able to see or feel. Clean rinsing detergents do not...these are brands like Rockin Green, Tiny Bubbles, etc. Most cloth diaper-specific detergents are clean-rinsing. They really are not any more expensive than the normal, name-brand stuff if you have an HE machine. If you have a regular machine, they are a bit more spendy, but not ridiculously so. I plan on buying Rockin Green on Amazon (free shipping!), when I run out of my current bottle of All F&C.

    We use a Free and Clear detergent.  I usually buy All but right now I have Target brand and sometimes I get Tide.  What I buy usually depends on whether or not I have a coupon.
