Tell me about your workouts!

I used to work out religiously at least 3-4 times a week, I would do about 45 mins of cardio and some weights/yoga. Since I got my BFP I have worked out about twice. First I was so sick, then I was busy, it was always something.

I am really eager to start back but I can't do what I was doing, so I was wondering what types of exercises you do now and how often?

  • I do yoga and pilates both once a week for an hour(ish).  I am going to start prenatal yoga classes now, but up until this point I was just adjusting my regular classes to me.  My instructors were really helpful in letting me know which poses to avoid and how to adjust any others if I wanted to.  But I didn't really need to do that.  You can pretty much do them all (except inversions and full twists) until your belly gets in the way.

  • I'm still doing my prepg workouts - running, elliptical, cardio.  I just adjust to how I feel on a particular day and slow down if I need to.  I work out 6 days/week for about 75 min/day.  Dr OK'd it unless cramping/contractions start, I'm hoping to keep it up as long as I can.  I ran until 34 weeks w/ DS (much slower and shorter distances than normal), so we'll see!  It makes me feel somewhat normal to still workout :)

  • I did yoga everyday and cardio every other day before I got my BFP with LO number 2. I immediately ordered a prenatal yoga dvd but have yet to even unwrap it. Ugh. I've just been so sore this pregnancy and so tired after work I haven't had the willpower to do it. I really really want to get back into the groove of things though!
  • I do cardio like walking at an incline or the elliptical for 20-30min 2x week and then a combination of modifed push ups, light lifting, lunges and squats. in the next few weeks I'll probably do more swimming than lifting but my goal is 2x week for 1 hour..I can't really handle much more with feeling so sick and running around after 2 toddlers!
