Should I start today?

I AM going to cloth diaper.....I planned on it before LO was born bought the best bottoms and inserts and was totally pumped about cding. Then I ended up having a c-section and came home much more sore than I thought I would be, so we used sposies for the first few days and are still using them now. I am finally feeling better and can go up and down stairs (where the washer and dryer are) no prob. So I think I might start today!!!! When did you ladies start the cding process? Can I still put vasiline on the circ. or do I need to stop that with cds? What did you do about the circumcision? Thanks!

    I kept DS2 in sposies for the first week or two while I was still putting vaseline on the circ.  You don't want to put vaseline on with the CD's unless you are going to use a liner to protect the diapers.  How does the circ look, is it pretty well healed?  You probably don't even need the vaseline anymore (unless he just recently had it done).

    The circ looks good to me, it's totally healed and isn't red or anything. It was done before we left the hospital, so he was about 3 days old. It would be nice to be able to skip that step in the changing process anyway!

    If you are feeling better I would start asap.  I waite a little over a month and regret not starting sooner - though you are right, walking up and down the stairs to get to washer/dryer is an important step.  Though if I have another csection (please NO) I think DH will feel comfortable doing the laundry next time around.  Anyway, I would start when you feel good but don't overthink it, it's not as hard as you may be thinking.  Wouldn't want you to kick yourself for putting it off any longer then you need too. 

    As for the circ, I think we stopped with the vaseline around this time too.  I never used it when we started CDing and we started pretty much the same age as your DS is now.
