Poll NYE

What are you guys doing for NYE?

Are you doing something with or without DC?

What are you guys doing for NYE?  Not sure, I have to work be at work 615a on New Years Day so it will be an early night.  Thinking about going out for an early dinner.  Not sure if it is a big deal to go out to dinner with a 13 month old on NYE.  We may give it a shot but at like 430-500.

Are you doing something with or without DC?  We will be with DS.

Nothing fun but we are pretty lame these days anyway!  Looking forward to seeing what every one is doing.  Any input on going out with a LO on NYE?

  • yeah. ... we'll be home!  I think DH is going to make a surf and turf dinner for us.  Even if we had more friends w/ toddlers, I don't see how DD would make it up past 8 pm max!  My SIL and her husband go out later w/ friends and drop their girls off w/ my ILs for the night (and ILs go out to an early dinner date).  They stay up until jsut 12 pm w/ the grandkids (10 and 8), everyone has a tiny glass of champagne and they all have a blast!

  • No, we'll be staying home.  To be honest (debbie downer alert!) I kind of hate the whole forced frivolity of NYE. Like you are just supposed to go get drunk and whoop it up because that is what is expected. Also I never liked going out on NYE because there are too many drunk people on the road. So we usually stay in, make some sort of seafood (usually steamed shrimp, yum), have a beverage or two, and try to stay up til midnight.

Our friends (childless) are trying to convince us to come over there with LO, bring his PNP and just put him to bed there and then wake him up after midnight to take him home. Ummmmm........I don't think so!

  • I totally agree.  My DH and I both have off (which is rare) so we want to go out to dinner with DS because we like to go out to dinner.  NYE is getting in the way(:  Ha!  With the holidays and all the cooking I am in the mood to go out.  I just don't know.  I am thinking 430-5ish is way to early for the partiers.....Hopefully.

BTW I just tried to change my avatar picture and on my MAC it is all acting funny so now my picture is a pregnant lady and I am not so that kinda freaks me out.  The save changes button is not working.  Is this just a mac thing or a me thing???

  • We are going to a friend's house that lives close by, we have my 6 yr old SS and they have two boys so it should be a good time and won't be out to late.

  • Our plans this year for NYE is to party with friends. The host just bought a new TH and we really wanted to check it out. So my aunt will be watching DD, while we hang out with friends. We hardly get to do that these days, so we figure what the heck. Plus we are staying the night, so no driving with all the crazies.

  • We are going to a friends house who has kids our kids ages, we will put them down in the guest room and wake to go home whenever we go... I am designated driver AGAIN this year so I'll probably end up in the guest room with DC until my husband is ready to leave!

  • We will probably stay home but we might go to a friend's house for a few hours.  We also might do the Symphony of Lights NYE @ 7:30 or go to the docks in Annapolis for their early NYE.

  • We are going to a party at the neighbor's house across the street.  Works out perfectly because we'd be "out", not have to worry about driving anywhere and can bring DD home around her bedtime.

  • Absoultly Nothing.  i feel like a loser this year. Being pregnant takes the party out of it. I'm normally a big drinker but can't this year. I'm not even sure I could make it to midnight as tired as i am.

  • We haven't partied in years, just not into it anymore.  I'm like Mrs. Remy, I don't understand the big hoopla over it.  I cringe at the prices I see bars offering that night (like $99+)...wahhh!

We will be going to my cousins with the baby.  We'll see how long we last.
