3rd Trimester

moms of 2 or more

I'm on the search for a new diaper bag - big enough for two kiddies. I want it to be able to hold the baby basics along with diapers and a change of clothes for both - and a sippy cup and snacks for my toddler. Tell me about your diaper bag, please.  TIA.

Re: moms of 2 or more

  • I just bought the Skip Hop Dash Delux bag. I got it when gilt.com was having a sale on them. Its not super huge but it will work for 2 kids and it will force me to carry less in the bag and only what I really need. I have a habit of sticking like 20snacks in the bag.

  • I plan on using the JJ Cole Mode Tote bag I used with DD.  It is plenty big enough for toddler and baby stuff.  Lots of pockets and storage compartments.

  • Check out www.butlerbag.com.  I saw this on a youtube posting a girl did about what's in her diaper bag.  At the  bottom of this bag is an organizer and she had a ton of stuff in there.  I dont have one but it looks pretty awesome.
  • I just bought a Ju Ju Be, Be Prepared bag.. its big, cute.. A little on the pricey side though
  • I have the Ju Ju Be BFF bag. I love it! Not too big but big enough to carry everything I need. They are pricey retail though. I got it for a great deal new on Ebay.

  • I've had a Ju Ju Be Be All and a Fleurville Hana.  I loved them both.  I'll probably re-use the Fleurville this time (I had to trash the Ju Ju Be after it got wet while in storage and got moldy).  It's plenty big for two kids.  I am planning on cloth diapering this one, though, so I may end up needing something a little bigger to accomodate a wet bag.

This is the Fleurville I have:

  • I bought the Vera Bradley "Get Carried Away" bag.

Some would say that it is too big, but I find it to be perfect, especially with 2 kids. It has 6 pockets inside - 2 of which are waterproof, and it has 4 pockets outside. It is big enough to fit everything I need, including a cooler bag for sippy cups/bottles. I also can fit toys for when we are out to eat and need distractions. I love it! The pockets on the inside are different sizes also, so you can customize what goes in which pocket.

  • My favorite diaper bag is one of the free, black ones that came with a bunch of Similac samples.  The size of my diaper bag actually decreased when #2 came along.  When it was just #1 I felt like I needed to have everything under the sun in my bag - shampoo, thermometer, medicines, changes of clothes, toys, 1000 diapers - you name it.  By the time I had #2 I realized that I could pretty much survive with a few diapers, some wipes, and my epi-pen for most day-to-day errands.  My older son carries his sippy cup and whatever toy he wants in the car.  I only pack a large bag when I know I will be out of the house for a long time or I will be somewhere where the kids will need entertained for a while, like a doctor's office.
