One follicle question?

My first round of Clomid (50) I had one mature follicle... 2nd round of Clomid (100) still one follicle.  My RE just says they are mature?  Do they have a size... should I ask the size?  Should I expect more than one follicle?

Re: One follicle question?

  • I would ask the size. Just because :) i like to compare them from cycle to cycle.

I had 1 at 50 and then 2 my last 100's  none of it worked for me, but plenty of people have gotten KU with just one!   Good luck!

  • Clomid often does make more than one follicle grow, and this is good because it gives the sperm more targets. But even with one follicle, it's sometimes a better ovulation and a better egg, so it might still be worth it! If you're curious it won't hurt to ask what size your doc considers "mature".
  • I had one my first round with Clomid (100) and two the second time on the same dose.  My third IUI I was on Femera and Follistim and had 1.  My RE always told me the sizes I believe they were all between 18 and 22 when I was triggered.  If your RE doesn't tell you the size I would ask, just b/c I'm curious.
