Low Amniotic Fluid for just 1 baby?

Anyone experience this?  How far along were you?  What was outcome?

Am 19 weeks and had u/s this week.  One of the babies was diagnosed with low amniotic fluid.  Other is OK.  They are in separate sacs so that is good.

Did you take any action or medication to help situation?  I was advised to go on bedrest and drinks lots of water.  Anything else I can do?

TIA!

  • I was diagnosed with the same thing at 29w and told the same thing you were - get plenty of rest and drink plenty of water.  I'm currently 34w and while we've been keeping an eye on Baby A's fluid, it hasn't gotten any worse.  I'm to the point now where they would deliver the babies if it were that big of a concern, but obviously you are too early for that.  The best thing I can tell you is to follow your doctor's instructions and stay monitored.  GL!

  • I'm the opposite, at labor and delivery I was told i keep having, what I thought was contractions is actually irritability bc both babies have a lot of fluids around them which is tight in there and I get lots of discomfort. What I have been doing for few months are, I always lay and sleep on my left side even if the doctor and nurses tell me it's ok to lay on right side. But I also drink at least 90 ounces of water a day. I have an oversized 30 oz cup that my husband refills at least 3 times a night and when I go out to eat or something I also have water or a lemonade. Hope this helps. But yes, do listen to doctor, make it a habit to drink a lot even if you're not thirsty. Believe it or not I hate to drink in general but now I trained my body and when I'm not drinking I get thirsty, espescially at night when I'm laying I'm bed watching tv.

  • My Baby B had low fluid at I think my 23-week ultrasound. I paid more attention to drinking more water and by 2 weeks later, it was normal again.
