Question about the Clearblue Digital OPKs

I have been using the cheap tests with the lines.. And I can never tell if I get a positive or not so I just ordered some of the Clearblue digital.  I understand that you will see a smiley face when it is positive.. but do you get it for ONLY one day or is it a few days in a row?  Also do you ever get a "partial smiley face" like half a face or some of it lighter than the rest, etc.  I just want to know what to expect.  Thanks all!

    You will get the smiley face when your LH surge is detected. It is an "all or nothing" test. No LH surge, no smiley face. You will still get the smiley face while you are surging, but once the surge is over, it will be negative. My surge lasts about 12 hours so I usually test twice a day when I am getting close.
    Single Mother by Choice. Life didn't work out the way I planned so I did it on my own. IUI #s 1-3, unmedicated = BFN, IUI #s 4-6, 50mg Clomid, Ovidrel = BFN IVF #1: 23R, 20M, 17F. 5 day transfer 2 blasts. 2 Snowbabies BFP 6dp5dt, Beta #1 7dp5dt = 58, Beta #2 9dp5dt = 114, Beta #3 10dp5dt = 187 1st Ultrasound = 5/3, not much to see yet. 2nd Ultrasound = 5/17, TWINS!!! Hospital Bed Rest at 32 weeks due to pre-ecclampsia and severe edema. Audrey Grace, 5lbs9oz, & Lydia Louise, 6lbs, born via emergency c-section on 12/6/12 at 36w1d My IVF Journey

    I have been testing with them for the past year.  I generally get 2 and sometimes 3 smiley faces.  They have been very reliable (yet expensive) for me.

    I haven't been using OPKs long, but only use the CB digital.  As PP said, it's all or nothing - either a smiley face or an empty circle so there's no guessing involved.  I stop testing once I get a smiley face (which is what the directions suggest).  This helps save the test sticks for future use, if necessary.

    This is what I do as well. I just got my first smiley face EVER on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas morning. It was fun!  I got a box of 20 on Amazon for $26 a few weeks ago. That's much cheaper than in the store.

    That is a great idea!  I was having trouble telling if the line was darker or not on the cheapie tests, so I switched to using digital.  I should have done what you mentioned instead of spending all of the money on the digi ones! 

    I did get a smiley face on the 26th and didn't test again as it was the last one in the box and I didn't want to spend the $ on more until next month's supply, if needed.  I only test once per day to save $ on the tests, too.

    Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

    Thanks all for the info!  I got the box of 20 on Amazon too.. glad to know that it WAS a good deal after all.  :)  I am so relieved to know that it is an all or nothing deal... FINALLY I will know for sure that it is the right day.... PLEASE let it finally work.
