3rd Trimester

Travel at 33 weeks...

has almost killed me!!  The flights themselves weren't too bad (an hour to the airport, an hour flight, an hour and a half layover, and another 3 hour 40 minute flight...followed by a 2 hour drive to my parents' house) but holy smokes I'm exhausted now!!  We went from sea level to about 7200 feet in altitude...combined with a 2 hour time change and jet lag...I never knew I could be so tired!  I will recover just in time to fly back home...but at the same time, it is totally worth it!!!!!!

Re: Travel at 33 weeks...

  • Rest up! I just flew to London after days of delays only to get on a 2.5 hour train journey in which there were no seats!  I slept about 2 hours on the plane then stood for the train journey.  It was crazy! The trip is worth it though.  Try to pamper yourself a bit for a job well done.  Being pregnant really IS hard work! :) Enjoy your trip.

  • I'm going to be doing a similar journey when I am 32 weeks at the beginning of February.  Any advice?  Did you run into any questioning or weird looks at the airport?

  • I just did a 15 hour flight at 30 weeks.  You should get a note from your doctor saying that you are fit to fly in case you have any trouble with the airlines.  International airlines are pretty careful about letting very pregnant women on flights.
