IUI#2 was scheduled for 8:30 this morning. DH was off from work, we were good to go. Last night, he started not feeling well. By 2 am, he had a fever, was vomiting - full blown stomach flu. I was so stressed all night, thinking that my poor 2 little follicles were just going to die b/c I thought there was no way he'd be able to go. We were going to try to get the appt changed, but the office opens at 8:30 & that was our appt. So he powers through, gets dressed, we get there - only to find out that the Dr. got called to emergency surgery and we needed to come back in the afternoon (ironic, this is what we wanted in the first place, hoping he'd feel better). He looked TERRIBLE while we were there & asked the nurse if he could take a cup and get his sample at home. She said yes, thank God. So I was super nervous b/c we live 20 min from the office, and I thought the sperm would die. The nurse told me keep them warm, so I drove 90mph, w/ a cup of sperm tucked between my legs on the heated seat. There's something I never thought I'd say!! I got there, ran up the street w/ the cup under my arm, and safely delivered the sperm
BTW sperm collection at home is WAY easier than at the office.
So I was still really nervous about the count b/c of the drive and the fact that he was so sick. I was just waiting for the nurse to come out and say there wasn't enough & we'd have to cancel. But it was actually the opposite! His count was better than last time, and the Dr. told me everything looked great. She said if it works this month I'd have a great story to tell my kid someday. I said no one would ever want to hear a story about their mom driving their dad's sperm to the Dr.'s office, lol.
So, the dreaded 2ww begins... Sorry this is long, but what a stressful day! It's a good thing I color my hair b/c I'm pretty sure I grew a few grays today. January is 2 years ttc, I've done 2 rounds of Clomid, 2 IUI's and I had 2 follicles - I think I should get 2 babies to stay w/ the trend![]()

?Our Baby Boy Born June 26th, 2012?
Now thats funny! Well not funny about the stressing out part but I am so glad everything turned out ok LOL! I agree you for sure need 2 babies!!
Wow! Sorry it was so stressful.
When we did our first SA we kind of went through the same thing. I laugh at it now, but at the time it was not so funny. :-)
I agree, it will be funny someday. I figure even if this one is a BFN & we have to do another one next month, unless the Dr.'s office bursts into flames while we're in the waiting room, it can't be as bad as this month's!
Although one thing I was pleasantly surprised about was that me & my cup of sperm did not get pulled over for speeding. I was fully prepared to ask for a police escort to the Dr.'s office if that happened, lol.
