didn't watch the video but texting while driving is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves. i won't even talk on the phone unless it's handsfree while driving. it's just too dangerous!

The US seriously needs to ban texting and talking while driving. The accidents are too devastating. In France it is banned with a super hefty fine and points off your license.

It's banned in my state and in NY state too (I'm pretty sure). But a nationwide ban would be great.

I 100% agree...and if that text or phone call is so important and just cannot wait 5-10 minutes, then pull off the road. It's not like we're doctors and performing surgery right then and there on the phone.

It's banned in CA too. I didn't even know it was not illegal anywhere.

I reconnected on Facebook with a high school friend who lost her 16 yr old daughter driving & texting just a year ago. She smashed into a pole & died instantly. She was texting her mom. So sad. She still has 3 younger kids. How do they all live with it? How do the kids deal with losing a sister? and her, thinking if she hadn't been texting her daughter maybe she would be alive.

I stumbled across this online today and then remembered you posted something about it.

I admit it. I am guilty of firing off a quick response every once in a while. I have NEVER done it while Sydney was in the car though. It is totally illegal and I get furious when I see other people doing it or talking on the cell phones (can you say hypocrite?)

Anyway... I just posted the video on my FB page. I made this my New Years resolution (starting today though). I will never text and drive ever again.

I recently lost a dear friend because someone was texting while driving, hit him and killed him. Now his children will grow up without a father. As innocent as it seems, it is so very dangerous and so many lives have changed. The young man that kill him, his family and our family and friends. Not worth it at all.
