  The idea is that the hormone synthesizes during the day so it is at its weakest with FMU. That being said I have gotten plenty of +OPKs with FMU. GL

  
  
  Dx: DH - Azoo, Me - Mild PCOS
  DH - sperm found! Seems to produce only for a few days every 70 days!
  Over 1 million in cryo in 15 vials over 6 samples
  IVF #1 - 1 beautiful expanded blast transferred, 4 snowbabies - beta #1 11/30/11 = BFFN
  FET #1, transfered 2 embies 2/16/12 = BFFN; 1 snowbaby left in cryo
  IVF #2 + CGH = 4 genetically normal embies on ice. FET September 26th
  SAIF/PAIF always welcome

  The best time to test is 2 p.m., or as close as possible. Anytime between noon and 8 p.m. is fine, first morning urine is not recommended. The reason for this is that most women experience a surge in the morning, but it can take 4 hours for it to show up in your urine.

  Make sure to test at about the same time every day.

  This.  I often get my first + with FMU though.  I usually test twice a day approaching O until I see the lines start to get darker, and then sometimes three times a day until I get a positive.  If you're doing twice a day, you're bound to catch it eventually (in most cases - some don't get positives at all).

  didn't know there was a type of day..eek, but i test at both morning and night and was +

  I also always get my first +OPK with FMU and I don't plan on not testing with FMU bc its not recommended or ideal. But as PPs said, LH is synthesized early in the morning and usually won't show until noonish. HTH.
