Does anyone have this stroller? I was in Buy Buy Baby and the sales clerk told me this was their best seller. I was actually looking at strollers almost double the cost, and he told me this one was the best. I am looking for a stroller that will convert later to a double, since I am planning to have kids relatively close together.
Any reviews?
Re: Baby Jogger City Select
How big do you plan on your kids begin when they're riding in a stroller. It's not a huge concern for me because DH and I are small and will have small babies, but I like to think by the time DD's size is an issue that she's walking most of the time.
I have no idea, lol! It's my first baby and no one close to me has older age children. I sort of think by the time it would become an issue the older one wouldn't really want to ride around too often anyway.
Chances are you're right- some kids are big on the stroller, but for the most part kids who walk like the independence. Unless you're doing big day outings your oldest will have the option to walk. You also have the option to wear the smaller one and put the larger one in the stroller as a single.
I think a lot of the people who say that the Select is small for older children are thinking about putting in much larger children or twins that are the same size. Like I mentioned, I had my 25 lb DD and a 30 lb 3 yo in it and they seemed fine (DD up top and she's in the 50th percentile for height). BJ makes great strollers and since you know that you're going to want two kids close together and are going to want a double it's a great option because you know that you can make it a single now and a double later. Also, it accommodates a toddler and an infant quite well.
I just got the black one from albeebaby.com yesterday. I don't have a whole lot of experience with it yet but it folds up a lot flatter than my Graco travel system and it turns on a dime.
They're cheaper than Buy Buy Baby's prices right now...
2010 Model's are going for:
Onyx- $359.99
Diamond and Ruby - $319.99

Ooh... You're the person to talk to! In addition to this stroller, are there other ones that you recommend?
They're actually the only strollers we're selling right now. We did carry some phil & teds in the summer, but we are waiting on their new models before committing to order more. We didn't like the way the front wheel turn lock worked on some of them, the foot break was ridiculously stiff, and it was a bit difficult to put the seat back up after reclining. They were really easy to set up though, I loved the handling, and that the 2nd seat could be both up top or underneath. Overall I thought that the Phil & Teds was a great buy, you got more bang for your buck.
I personally have a Zooper boogie that i got 2nd hand in excellent condition. I love it when it's cold, but it's a bit stuffy in the heat. it's so padded/ insulated that it's really warm when the top is up, not so great for summer napping.
The place I work at is really all about active outdoor family living, like camping and hiking as well as skiing and snowshoeing (we even sell really cool kids snowshoes) so we sell more carriers and backpacks (frame carriers) than we do strollers.
