Baby's Postion...

I have previously posted about my baby being transverse at my 32 week appt.  However, yesterday I had an ultrasound and my LO was in the perfect head down position.   However, this evening I was sitting on the couch and felt a huge vibration/movement and now my LO feels transverse again (really hard across my belly button and wide horizontally). I know he still has a little time to get in and stay in the right position, but jeepers creepers this is making me nervous because I don't want c-section anyone else concerns about positions and what has your OB said?

Re: Baby's Postion...

  • At 33 weeks there isn't much you can do to make baby stay in place. I wouldn't stress, though. It is rare f(something like 1:2500) for a baby to still be transverse at 36 weeks (I was one of the "lucky" few). Check out spinning babies and do pelvic rocking to encourage proper position. Also, know that baby can feel transverse and not be. My baby's head has stayed down since the version, but he holds his body very oddly and feels like he is across rather than "stacked" up and down most of the time. We had the dr teach us how to feel for his head in my pelvis because I was so stressed after the version about him moving back that I was waking up with his every move.

  • Today I had my 32 week apt. He has been head down (since my 28 week apt) and I felt when he switched. Today it felt like it did when he flipped around the first time with this horrible stretching and pushing on my sides. I told my doctor and she did some feeling. Apparently he has his legs spread and is using them to push against my sides, but is still securely head down. :) It feels horrible, but is cool to know what body parts I'm feeling along my sides....

  • The good thing is that an external aversion might change that. Good luck! Hope he's head down in time for delivery. :)

  • my baby was transverse than went to breech at 28 weeks..finally at my 32 week ultrasound she went head down.  I also felt the exact same thing you are describing but she was still head down at my appt. two days ago....so you never know.
