That I would willingly pour salt water up my snout via Neti Pot, and in fact look forward to the process and impending relief, I would have told you you were nuts. I am, however, now a converted Neti pot user. I am amazed at the results and I haven't even drowned once!

Re: NBR: If you had told me...
I got introduced to it through my yoga teacher training. It seemed a little invasive at the time, but compared with all we've got going on with pregnancy it really isn't a big deal at all.
Funny, I haven't been using it lately (since before I was pg); but thanks ladies! I'll pull it out and give it a run tonight!
I was sick of feeling like crap and everyone I knew who used it loved it. I figured what's a couple minutes of discomfort for some possibly awesome relief. It took me a little to get used to, you want to make sure your head is tipped forward enough that it doesn't run down your throat. It's not even that bad, it's kind of like that feeling of getting nose in your water in the pool.
That thing is the absolute best.
For those that are scared to try it, it's not that bad. Just take your time, and make sure the water temperature is pleasantly warm, not hot, not cool. Also stand there over the sink, and calmly practice regular breathing but only through your mouth (as if your nose is completely stuffed and you have no choice). Get a steady calm breathing pattern down. Then mix the water and salt or solution and make a good seal between your nostril and the neti pot.
Once you start pouring it up your nostril, just smoothly continue that same mouth breathing and you shouldn't have a problem. If it pours down your cheeks instead of into the sink, you might have the angles wrong, but don't worry about it until you get comfortable with the breathing. Then once you're good with that, you can play a little with tilting your head and/or the neti pot in different directions to get it to cleanly pour straight out of your other nostril into the sink. I don't use any of the solutions, I just use about a 1/4 tsp of Kosher salt and call it a day.
Works wonders, seriously.
