Thrush, yeast rash, CDs and milk maid questions?

Ok, DD has had Thrush for 4 weeks. And now for 2 weeks a yeast diaper rash. I also have Thrush. I've been using my milk maids (not thinking since I didn't get Thrush) DD has also been in CDs (pf) on and off. I am treating DD with gentian violet for her mouth, nystatin ointment for her bum, and I'm using nystatin liquid on myself. My Q is, when should I bleach the CDs, is there any other way to get rid of the yeast in the CDs. And the milk maids, how should I sterilize them? Can I bleach them or should I just wash in real hot water. Please help me. Thanks.

Re: Thrush, yeast rash, CDs and milk maid questions?

  • You have to bleach everything. I had nipple thrush and it was horrible! I feel for you. I would bleach her diapers and then use disposables until a couple days after the rash clears up. Same with the milk maids. Really hot water will not kill yeast. Neither will the sun. It might kill the yeast on the outer surface but there will be yeast inside and it will come back because of that. You have to bleach everything your nips or her bum (like towels and such).
