Oh Shrek!

So my son LOVES Shrek. I know it's not the best movie for a young kid to watch with all the adult inuendos. But he likes it and for the time being it's fine with me. Heres my funny story. In the first movie it has Lord Farquad, well my son was talking about him and kept saying his name. My DH come in the room and was ticked at me for letting him say that. I listened a bit more closly and the way my son was pronoucing it sounded like Lord F*ck Wad. Parent of the year award goes to me because I chuckled when he said it. We have really been trying to correct the way he says it so it won't be a problem when he talks about Shrek and Lord Farquad :) 

I'm also convienced the makers of Shrek did this on purpose :) 

Anyone else have funny kid sayings? I love to hear them.

    They totally did that on purpose. My friends and I used to tell each other to say it five times fast as a joke when it first came out. My brother had a similar problem when he was little. He wanted to be a truck driver...but he couldn't quite articulate the "tr" sound. My mom says they were in some public place (I think a restaurant), and my brother screamed "Mommy! A F*ck!!!" and everyone just stared at her. I'm not sure how he got "F" out of "tr", but it's funny looking back at it.

    I'm pretty sure Farquaad was supposed to sound like f*ck wad. ;)

    I watch Shrek with my daughter too.  Any adult innuendos go way over their heads at this age anyway.  She just likes "princess fona"

    My friend thought it was funny to teach my son to say 

    "I like the Percy train" which he says " I like the *** train, *** is my favorite"

    Sometimes I swear I hear him say a curse word but when I ask him what he said very slyly he just repeats it in a perfectly straight face but replaces it with a different word. I live with my parents & he is always telling them "Don't say bad words, say darnit instead" & " you aren't supposed to say bad words around little kids" haha he cracks me up
