i now carry any extra weight in my stomach....i wasn't going to bust my butt to lose it just to get pregnant again, but i am over it and need to do something!! what are you doing? what has worked?
"Sometimes I am two people. Johnny is the nice one. Cash causes all the trouble. They fight." - Johnny Cash
I've lost 50 pounds by first BFing, then walking/running a little and not eating any desserts, then the past 6 months I run 6 miles twice a week. My stomach is still WAY flabbier than before, but the running plus pilates work (twice a week after my runs) has really helped me taper down.
Unfortunately it's not possible to spot reduce fat. Good old cardio will help you reduce your body fat percentage throughout your body and you can always do ab exercises to tighten up your ab muscles.
I got down to my pre-pg weight by bfing, but still had the jiggly belly. I started trying to get rid of it, but then gave up b/c I knew I wanted to get pg when DD turned one anyway. So I'm of no help. In the past the most effective way for me to lose weight around my mid section is to do cardio like an elliptical (sp?) or jogging.

Pilates did wonders the first time around. My abs were as flat as they were pre-baby #1 (my belly skin, OTOH, was another story). Now I have to do them all over again.
i knew you were all going to say running....this is what i was thinking.
it doesnt have to be running, it just has to be something that you enjoy so that you do it frequently. i love to run but i also swim and bike - i can get the same quality workout doing those.
honestly though, when it comes to fat loss, your best bet is heavy lifting. when you run, you raise your metabolism for the duration of the run. after that, it returns to normal (unless you did sprints - high interval training will keep it high). weight training will not only raise your metabolism while you do it, it will keep your metabolism high for many hours afterwards. plus, muscle burns more calories than fat so the more muscle you have, the more calories your burn per day.
lots of women are scared of weight training because they think they will get buff or nasty, but you wont because you dont have testosterone. you will only get lean and tone.
