flaky dry skin on face?

does anyone know what I can use on my flaky face?  I have super sensitive skin and some stuff can turn it glowing red.  Now that its cold out and my baby is changing my hormones :) i just can't get rid of flaking.  Any ideas??

Re: flaky dry skin on face?

  • My skin is EXACTLY like that! I use Jergens dry skin moisturizer it works good! But also if im wearing make-up i like to use a dif kind but for the LIFE of me I  can't think of the name of it! I don't wear make-up toomuch anymore b/c of my flaky skin it just makes it look GROSS!! I also asked this question but it's been shoot a month or so ago and I don't know how to get back to that post. The girls had some great advice! Hope you get it as well!!!

  • I just started using the yellow moisturizer from Clinique, and it works very well. I have sensitive skin as well and certain moisturizers can cause me to get pimples. Lame.
  • i have the exact same problem!!! the yellow stuff from clinic wasn't cutting it for me! i got Philosophy Hope in a Jar for Dry Sensitive Skin as a Christmas present (its a lil pricey! eeek!) but it has changed my skin in the short time i have used it!!! i gently exfoliate with an apricot scrub and then apply this stuff before bed!!! amazing results and no allergies!

    here is a link!!!

  • This sounds kind of weird, but Curel Itch Defense lotion cleared up the flakes I was getting all over my face. I bought it for my arms and legs and just thought I'd try it on my face and it worked! If you have super-sensitive skin, though, it might be iffy. If you decide to try it, maybe do a test spot first.

  • I was wondering the same thing! I have pretty sensitive skin anyway but it feels more dry than ever...I couldn't decide if it's the winter weather or another awesome little something that comes along with being pregnant. Anyway for dry skin my dermatologist told me that hot showers contribute...so try not to take a super steamy shower. Also don't wash your face too much. If you can get away with just washing it once a day with something mild that's perfect. It's kinda like your hair...too much washing draws all of your natural oils out making everything more dry. Also I'd like to suggest an awesome lotion that I use...it's Neutrogena Night Renewal and it comes in a little blue container. Like I said  my skin's already super sensitive so I'm really careful about only putting face lotion with no scents on my face. Hope you find something that works!
