When we took them to the pedi 2 days after they were home from the hospital the doc asked us if we had heard of tummy time. Of course we have but I was so surprised she was asking us about it already. My boys were born at 35w6d. Two of them were feeders in the NICU for a few days and she was asking us about tummy time. It was the last thing on my mind. But we started it right away and they were fine with it.
We waiting on the bouncies and the swing until their due date. I just thought they were too little. We still don't vibrate the bouncies. It just seems weird to me to vibrate a baby. I guess I'm weird about that.
Start it now! I did it randomly when they were little, and I regret that--I wish I had been more consistent. Luke HATES tummy time now, and I really stress over his gross motor development. I wish I had done more to get him used to tummy time when he was tiny.

We started right away but really didn't take it very seriously. They hate it, so we were pretty loosey goosey with it.
Then at their 2 month check up the pedi made a remark about their head flattening. So we stepped up tummy time (10min with each bottle except for bedtime). Now they still have a bald spot where they sleep but at least their head is rounded.
Me: PCOs DH: Perfect!
4 Fresh IVF cycles + 1 FET where embies didn't survive the thaw = 2 perfect little men!
sFET 11/9/11 - Beta 11/18 BFP!
Start right away. We were really bad about tummy time with our older child. As a result, she developed brachycephaly/torticollis and had PT for 6 months. We have been doing tummy time since they came home. They HATE it still! But they have to "suffer through it". Honestly, with as much tummy time as they get I would think they'd be adapting. But no, they still hate it.
When they were in the NICU they were doing it once a day. They have always loved being on their tummies and I think it is because they don't know anything else. We were told not to put them in a swing or anything until their due date.
We did it right away too. One of my favorite flip videos is them doing tummy time at a few weeks old. They look like tiny, squirmy, screaming, hairless moles on the floor. I found they liked being on our chest much more than the floor though.

Maybe about 2 weeks in? I can't remember exactly. I'm not as vigilant about it as I should be, because I can't take the screaming that ensues. I did maybe 5 min for each baby this AM. I'm trying to do it at least once a day but I know I should do it with each awake time.
We have done tummy time since the day that they got home. They are on an activity mat on the floor once a day and they lay on our chests after each feeding. Both are for at least 10 minutes. My boys like tummy time thankfully (for now at least)!!
