Re: Need work advise

  • Wow that totally sucks- people like him should be tarred and feathered!
Is there a supervisor or manager you can talk to about it? If it is affecting you this much (emotionally) you should probably get it off your chest. It might result in a meeting with the jerk coirker - I don't know how things work at your work - or it might just be a chance for you to get all those feelings you are having about the situation out in the open and for your supervisors to know what is going on.. Either way it'd be productive. That is negative work behavior and needs to stop. He sounds like a total creep and I wouldn't have any qualms about going to the higher-ups to get him to stop.

  • Yikes!  Is there a supervisor you can tell about this?  If so, I totally would.  His behavior is childish and inappropriate.  You shouldn't have to deal with this, but please don't retaliate in kind!  You would not have a leg to stand on at that point, and it would just make you look bad.  You definitely need to find someone, supervisor or HR, to tell about this, because he is being extremely inappropriate.  I'm sorry you are having to deal with that!

  • If you have an HR rep/dept I would touch base with them on the issue.

  • You really should address the situation with HR or a supervisor if possible.

    Advice, not advise.

Go speak with your supervisor. After speaking with him once about this, that is immediately where you should have gone when it happened again. The three of you need to sit down and figure out a solution.

    Oops sorry about the typo.

My supervisor is aware.  He (the trouble maker) is a higher level than me and it started when I was asked to take over some of his responsibilities temporarily.  My supervisor even went as far as having a meeting with him and the Director about his behavior. Now he's bitter towards me and towards my supervisor and is just trying to nitpick and take other people down with him.  I think the next step would be a harassment report to HR, but I really just want it to go away and it seems like anything I do to make it stop only exacerbates the situation.

Well, it sounds like your supervisor needs to know that this is continuing.  Even if you were not pregnant, he should not be doing this.  It is harassment, and it needs to be taken care of.  It seems like if it wasn't happening to you, it would be happening to someone else, so the behavior needs to be stopped.  I would also document what he is doing so that you have something to show your employer.

At this point, it's important to address this with HR and get a resolution. It's technically creating a hostile work environment and if let go it could escalate or he may begin doing this to others.
