Does anyoen have a Honda CR-V?

We need a new car, and want to buy it int he next 2 weeks-ish. Does anyone have one of these? I don't want a large SUV, so this seemed appealing. How is it space-wise? We would have two convertible carseats int he backseat and I have the city-mini stroller. Anything you love or hate about it? TIA!

Re: Does anyoen have a Honda CR-V?

  • We got one last year and LOVE it!  I have a crossover too, and when we got in the CR-V we were shocked by the interior space-- the passenger seat legroom is great, headroom is impressive, and it's comfortable for adults to sit in the back seat.  We have yet to find anything we hate about it, except there is a button on the radio that re-sets the preset buttons, so you have to watch out for that.  If that's our biggest complaint, I think we made a great choice. :)

Our babies aren't here yet, but we don't anticipate any problems with the convertible car seats and when we checked out the city mini (we're getting one soon), it fit in the trunk no problem.  The trunk is great- there's plenty of space.  Take the stroller and a carseat with you when you go to check them out so you can see for yourself.

  • I have the Honda Crosstour.  LOVE it.  my kiddos aren't here yet, however I think It will have plenty of room for all of us and it isn't too big to handle.  Good Luck.

  • I have a CRV- I don't have convertible seats in it at this time but I do have snugride 35s - and there is plenty of room.  The back seats adjust somewhat- you can push them back/forward.  I love it- never thought I would have a SUV- but I got it last year when I found out I was having twins.... so it was either a small SUV or a mini van.  I just could not buy a mini van.....
  • Love my CR-V! The only thing is that I wished I had more room for more people at times so we didn't have to take 2 cars. But I still love it :)
  • I had one before I had the twins...bought a 2005 off the showroom in 12/2005.  It was that last body style (not the curved back of the current style).  I loved it - my all-time favorite (and I've had about 8 different vehicles)  I miss it! ;)  DH is talking about buying one as our second car in a year or two....and I'm so stoked! ;)

Anyhow, it is super roomy...my  6' husband could sit in the back very comfortably.  The rear seats slide forward/back & recline. The back is super roomy...after DD was born, I toted the Graco Quattro Dbl and a single umbrella stroller nearly everywhere, and had room for groceries. I had a Chicco infant seat behind the passenger, and have had a Britax Roundabout RF and FF in both spots with no issues. I'm shorter (5'2" on a good day) and the seats are perfect for getting kids in/out (as opposed to car/large SUV for me).

We traded in the CRV for an Odyssey...and if I have to have a van, it's great also.

I'm glad to hear about the convertible fitting  nicely! We are moving up to those soon and I was getting a *little* nervous, but I was really hoping it wouldn't be an issue! Right now my mom fits in the middle between the 2 snugrides, and I am hoping that after we move up (more than likely to the my ride 65s) that she'll still fit - I know it'll be less room but I'm hoping! *fingers crossed*

  • I really love my CRV but I don't find that it is as roomy as everyone says.  We bought ours in 2008 not long after DS1 was born.  After we put him in a convertible carseat there was not much room for someone to sit on either side of him with him in the middle.  We had to buy a more slender carseat for him so that we could fit two more infant carseats in the back with him.  I guess my situation is a bit different since I have 3 carseats in the back.  I would just take a measuring tape with you with the mearsurements of the carseats your are going to have in the back so that you can get an idea of the space you will have.

  • My hubby and I have an older CR-V that we got even before kids were thought of. It sure came in handy when we had the twins. There is enough room for everybody, even a 3rd adult to sit in the back between the car seats. The back is roomy as well. We have 2 double strollers (one tandum and one side by side) and both fit well with extra room for other things.

I will eventually want a Honda Pilot when we decide to expand our family!
