I want to know the gender ..

but H doesn't!  We told our families at Christmas & everyone wants to know the sex.  I understand H wants to be surprise .. our 19 y.o. DD isn't his, so he wants the whole element of surprise.

Did anyone find out without telling your H or did you just suffer through & respect his Team Green wishes?

You could always find out and not tell him if he is okay with that. I just cannot imagine not slipping up.

That's what I'm afraid of happening, but I want to decorate the nursery for the correct gender.  I'm not a fan of the generic nursery colors (primary, green/brown or yellow/brown).

This is going to be hard!

I have to say I was horribly grumpy with my DH the first time around because I wanted to plan but he wanted the surprise.  With this second PG we are team green too.  That's how much I loved the surprise in the delivery room.

Here are some pro's for the surprise. . .

-Everyone seems to be more excited the day you go into labor because they all want to know what it's going to be.  My family told me how much fun they had texting and calling each other all day while I was in labor to get "updates"!

-Also if you are going to have a baby shower you seem to get your larger items that you need and less clothes and then after the baby got here we got all the cute pink outfits that the aunts, cousins, and grandmas couldn't resist buying!!

-Plus at the end of all that pushing you get to find out not only what your baby looks like but also what sex it is and what name you'll use. It was like a light at the end of a 16 hour tunnel for me!!

The cons for me were like you said the decorating and also prepping any siblings for the birth which I am finding harder to do this time around because my 2 year old is convinced it's a boy so I am worried that I'll disappoint her if I bring home a sister!!

Wow this ended up being longer than I thought!!!  Good luck with what ever you decide :)

With DD I didn't want to find out and neither did he, then he didn't and I did, so we flipped a coin and I won, lol.
