I was happy to see that the majority of us aren't doing anything for New Years. Glad I'm not the only lame person....lol. Could this mean we're all getting O L D??
Although I am quite old, staying home on NYE has nothing to do with it. I've never been into it, even when I was younger. I see it as more of an excuse to pig out in my pj's!
For me, it is because I am getting old! When I was younger, on NYE I would go out and party until 4am, be with a bunch of friends basically swinging from the rafters! Now, I will be lucky to even stay up to see the ball drop on tv. It amazes me how different I was just 5 years ago!

Me too, I've always been boring on NYE. When I was younger and just dating DH, he would usually be at my house around NYE. My parents would always go out to a huge party and stay out until 3 or 4 in the morning, and we, the kids in their late teens/early 20's would be on the couch in our pajamas!
DH and I are SUCH homebodies. We decided to get a sitter; go out to a nice dinner with friends and then to a party. I would much rather be home in jammies but I'm just afraid if we don't do it this year- next year we won't be able to.
I wish it were because we were getting old. Truthfully, we have no where to go haha. We use to go to a black tie gala every year with my family. But we skipped it last year and this year. It adds up quickly. Now we don't have anywhere to go, or a sitter.

Even when I was younger and didn't have a LO, we never did much. All the restaurants have crazy pre-fixed menus that are way more expensive than normal. We went out w/ friends a few years ago to one of our favorite places and spent almost twice as much as we typically do.
Since we enjoy cooking together, it's a good excuse to get expensive, high quality ingredients (and wine!) that we normally wouldn't, and make a really good meal at home (that, IMO, tastes better than some restaurants... only problem is we have to clean up!)

I love being a homebody now. I like to go out occasionally with DH for dinner/movie, but it has been a long time since I have wanted to go to a bar/club.
