For anyone who got an elective gender ultrasound at 15 or 16 weeks and the 20 week OB scan...

For those who got an elective gender ultrasound at 15 or 16 weeks, was it accurate and were they able to see the gender at that time without having to go back?

After reading all the positive responses I called and was able to get the ultrasound today...Team Pink!

    Our place wouldn't guarantee until week 17. If the a/s showed differently they would have confirmed for free and if they were wrong we would have recieved our money back.

    The place I went to you could have gone at 16, but I waited until I was 17.

    He had to move her a bit, but he could tell, and he was right. He also has a policy that if he's wrong, you get your money back. And, if he can't get a clear shot, he'll wait a week and bring you back for free.

    We went at 16wks.  Clear as day its a Boy!  Right away we could tell.  It was also confirmed at 18wk.

    15w5d the tech said she saw a girl.  It was confirmed at 19w6..and again at 27 weeks.

    Celia, SO good seeing you here.  CONGRATULATIONS!!  I thought I was on the wrong board at first when I saw your name pop up. 

    As if you haven't noticed, I haven't been at the book clubs lately, DH and I moved back to Phoenix in September.  I could only handle one Chicago winter.  Haha, I'm pathetic.  Anyway, I hope all is well with you.  What doctor are you going to?  I got my BFP while we were still in Chicago, so I went to the Woman's Group of NW for a while. 

    As far as the gender scan goes, we got a pretty good shot at our 12 week NT scan so we wanted to confirm it at a 16 weeks.  We went to a 4d place and he was still all boy.  I had my anatomy scan yesterday and nothing has changed.  The place I went to said they would guarantee gender guesses at 14 weeks or your $$ back.  

    Good luck, I'm excited to see a familiar face around here.  Big Smile

    We had ours at 16w5d, the tech was certain that it's a boy. I don't see the typical penis in the ultrasound but she pointed out the "turtle" we will find out if she was right next Friday at our anatomy scan.

    my office wouldn't do anything before 18 weeks. My sister found at 17 though. I found out at our anatomy scan at 20.

    I did an elective ultrasound at a place at 14 weeks and we got a great picture of our little boy's goods! =) I've had my anatomy scan and sure enough he is all boy! =)

    At my 12 week NT scan, I was told 2 girls. I had an elective u/s at 15w2d and was told 2 girls (the tech was 100% sure). Anatomy scan last week confirmed 2 girls.

    So long as the equipment is good enough, it is definitely possible to tell at 15w.

    I had an elective gender ultrasound at 17 weeks & it was VERY obvious. It was again confirmed at my 21 week anatomy scan. He was very cooperative at my elective ultrasound but during my anatomy scan it took them FOREVER to be able to tell. I thought the elective ultrasound was worth ever dollar especially with the dvd- great keepsake!!
