Are you drinking caffeine while pregnant? If yes, what are you limiting your intake to? I haven't been drinking any at all and I'm just wondering how everyone else is handling this.
I have about a cup and a bit of coffee a day.. Other then that If i really want caffein like coke or chocolate I will limit myself to a sip or a bite. Nothing over the top thats for sure.

I'm a huge caffiene drinker, it took me a few weeks to cut back on it too. Now I drink 1 soda a day and I make sure to drink lots of water before and after drinking it. The caffiene headaches were rough at first, but after a few weeks they aren't so bad anymore.

I have a cup of coffee at work everyday. I do drink sprite or caffinee free coke most of the time. But If I want a piece or two of chocolate I will eat it. lol

The most caffeine I drink is usually 1/2 a soda if I get fast food. Right now I'm sitting in an airport on standby, and I will most likely be here all day, so I treated myself to a frapuccino.
I'm know it's completely silly but I posted this because DH just called to tell me that I made regular coffee instead of decaf this morning. I was wondering why LO was so active this morning lol. I know it's not a big deal and I'm sure it will make for an eventful checkup today
I've read that 2 cups of coffee a day is safe. Before I started getting morning sickness I would have a cup of coffee in the morning. Now I occasionally have some Dr. Pepper (mmm), usually 1-2 if I'm out to eat.
I have gone from about 5-8 cups of coffee a day to like 2 cups a day. One thing that helps me is at work we only have powered creamer and the smell makes me feel sick so I don't really drink it at work. I've started drinking a lot of hot chocolate at work though. The only other thing I drink is water and sometimes juice and milk, so that works for me.
I switched to Folger's Half Caff when I found out I was pregnant, and usually drink 2-3 cups in the morning. In the afternoon I'll grab a Pepsi or Dr. Pepper. My OB told me as long as I stayed under the equivalent of 3-4 cups of full-strength coffee a day I'd be fine. And baby has a normal heartbeat and growth

I am a little. I have a can of coke or small fountain soda of regular coke once or twice a week. I work two 12 hour night shifts a week and sometimes need the extra boost or help kicking a headache. I have randomly had hot chocolate too.
I have an occasional soda (when I had morning sickness, it really helped to settle my stomach) - maybe one a day, but not every day, so 2-3 per week. Far below the acceptable limit.
BFP #1 5/1/10, missed mc dx 6/4/10
BFP #2 8/5/10, baby boy arrived 4/25/11
I try to limit my intake to 100 mg or less a day. That way the caffeine I get from eating chocolate or hot chocolate doesn't put me anywhere near the 200 mg safe limit my doctor set.
I have really bad headaches, so my doctor told me to drink some caffeine. I try to stick to 1-2 cokes a day, I generally buy a 20oz and sip on it all day and end up throwing half of it out. I also drink tons of water in between.

2 cups a day for me - was drinking half-caf but my fiance bought me a fancy schmancy keurig for christmas and I am using the regularly caffeinated one cup servings now that came with it. Sometimes, I switch out one cup for a soda. Honestly, my OB said not to be too concerned with it, its really the largest concern in the first trimester (due to risk of miscarraige) or if you drink a crap ton of it. At least, thats what I have been told....
There are so many things I can't have that drive me nuts (namely smoked salmon and raw fish booooo), so I drink a little caffeine. Call me a rebel...
I'll have a decaf cup of coffee maybe once a week or every other week. Same goes for chocolate. Other than those two things, I've cut caffiene out completely.
I did stop pop and coffee in the first trimester because I was so paranoid, but I usually have 1 or 2 cans of root beer a day. Coffee just hasn't sounded great, but I'd have that if I felt like it.
Caffeine "usage" cracked me up for some reason. I don't use it, I drink it. That makes it sound like some kind of hard drug.
Anyway, I have been a HUGE caffeine drinker for years and years. I tried to cut back a bit in the first trimester, but it just crept back up to just about my normal amount. I do sometimes drink an orange soda, which has no caffeine, in place of my normal soda (and I've always only drank diet soda), but I drink caffeine pretty much all day long, with no limits.
I'm not proud of it, and I'm definitely not trying to flaunt it, but you asked - I drink a LOT of caffeine (I'm serious - take whatever you think to be "a lot" and add a lot more to that) and haven't had any problems, nor has my doctor said anything. My husband, on the other hand... heh.
On bed rest since Groundhog's Day and every day since has been exactly the same. Blog
Up until about 2 weeks ago, I was drinking maybe 2-3 caffeinated beverages a week. No coffee but the occasional soda and non decaf tea. But given that I have had high BP I've cut down. I decaf all my tea and no more caffeine soda. I did manage to find a store with caffeine free coke so that's been great! I will say that if it hadn't been for the high bp, I would still be drinking caffeine.
I drink one or two caffeinated beverages, sweet tea or coke usually. And I eat some chocolate. Well since Christmas it has been more than a little . But chocolate doesn't have much caffeine.

It's good to know that I am not the only one drinking caffeine that is not worrying about it. I drink 3-4 cups of half decaf and half caffeinated coffee in the morning, followed by 2 cans of Diet Dr. Pepper at work. The afternoon and night usually consists of water (sometimes a diet 7-up), but I can't do without my caffeinated beverages during the day.

Just an FYI- I was drinking Sunkist orange soda as my caffeine alternative until I realized it actually has caffeine. So lame. Anyway, just wanted to let you know!
I barely had any caffeine in the first tri, just because of m/s. Now I have about a can of Coke a day, sometimes on the weekends I might have a larger soda at dinner or something. Pretty much the same amount I was drinking pre-pregnancy, and definitely less than 200 mg a day.
I drink a cup or two of coffee most mornings and eat chocolate whenever my sweet tooth attacks. I had to limit my caffeine intake drastically about five years ago when I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, so I have not really had to change too much other than my occasional late afternoon latte pick-me-ups.
I will normally drink caffeine free sodas and coffee if I have the choice, if not, I just order a regular soda or tea. I drink so much water throughout the day I don't mind drinking caffeine sometimes. I try not to obsess over the amount, since I know that I have cut back considerably.
Before I was pregnant, I drank a TON of caffiene every day. I took about 3 weeks and really cut back, then switched to decaf/free drinks. I do still have chocolate and I know there is still some caffiene in decaf, but what I have now is nothing compared to what I used to drink before.
I am about 1 cup of Half Caf per day, with a generous pour of milk. If we are out of half caf, I'll have 1 cup of regular, but I'll add more milk. I cut out all Diet Coke, except a sip here and there, very rarely...that was more important to me that cutting coffee b/c there are so many unknowns with what other harm soda can do to your body. Chocolate I have no idea how to track, the holidays have been rough for sure...hopefully now that they are over I can keep the choco to a minimum (1 bite sized piece a day maybe?)

Most days it is around 50 mg or less.
