Hey, lovely technerds...would you help me for a moment?

I bought a DVD-download spinning class, and need a program that will convert the file from .m4v format to .mp4 so that I can load it onto my iTouch.  Since I'm not in the biz, I need suggestions for a trustworthy source for said converter.  Any thoughts?

TIA!

  • Do you want something free or are you willing to pay?
  • Loading the player...
  • ps if it is already .m4v, it should just go in to itunes with no problem.
  • I'd prefer to not invest much into the program, if possible, since it won't be getting much use.  However, I'm open to suggestions and will pay if necessary.

I can get it into iTunes, but can.not. get it onto my iPod.  I ripped my hair out (figuratively) trying to load it, but it just won't go.  If you have any other suggestions, I'm totally open to those, too.  I tried using the "convert for iPod" function in iTunes, with no success.

  • You probably need to adjust the resolution of the video, in that case.

Change it to 640x480, and it should sync.

How do I go about doing this?

  • Um, well. I would love to tell you, but I don't have any videos on my itunes at work.

I think you right click on the video, options, and then change it there. That could be way off, though.

You can also try changing it from a "video" to a "music video."  I don't know why that makes a difference, but apparently, it does.
