LO eating habits

LO will not eat meat (even chicken nuggets which I though all children loved), even if hidden in other foods.  She won't eat eggs, and now she's refusing yogurt which she used to eat daily...I have no idea what to feed this child.   For Christmas dinner, she ate animal crackers & puffs...she wanted nothing to do with anything else we offered her!  She goes in spurts, some days she'll eat veggies, others not so much.  Please tell me this is  normal toddler behavior & will change again quickly!

Re: LO eating habits

  • It does change quickly. DS was such an awesome eater when we started solids- he never refused anything. He's gone through phases where he's wanted nothing but eggs or cereal for days at a time. The picky eater comes and goes but I don't really fight it. He eats a MONSTER breakfast (today was 2 scrambled eggs, a banana, a bowl of cereal & 2 turkey sausages) but by the time dinner comes around- 1 or 2 bites and he's all done.

  • Yep, totally normal but totally frustrating!!!  Justin is the same way.  He used to love ALL veggies and now he barely touches them.  And forget about me trying to make a recipe...he won't eat it.  He just likes the basics and things that aren't the healthiest.....hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pasta, etc.  I would try hiding veggies in things but I know he wouldn't eat it so I don't bother.  I think you just have to keep offering the foods and hopefully they'll eventually eat them.

  • My son is 8 years old and he still goes through phases of what he likes to eat and doesn't like.  Just when I think I nail it, he switches up on me again!! So in my case, my son is still going through it!
  • it is normal. but I don't know if it will go away quickly. Eve is a terrible eater.

  • I just don't know how much mac 'n cheese or baked ziti one little girl can eat!  She loves the steamfresh rice & veggie so she gets some of those almost daily, but she has just stopped eating foods she used to eat & refuses to try anything new.  Ugh!  Hopefully, she'll decide to try new stuff soon.  Otherwise, she'll turn yellow/orange from all the pasta & sauce she eats!
