Breaks my heart :o(

I think Justin is starting with the separation anxiety.  I really thought he was going to skip right over this phase.  The boys have been staying with my in-laws the last two days, as their sitter is on vacation this week.  The last two mornings we've dropped them off, Justin has cried for me not to leave.  He just stood at the door screaming for me.  He loves my in-laws and always has a great time with them but apparently he's going through some separation issues.  It breaks my heart to see him do this, but I'm a big believer in leaving quickly and not prolonging the goodbyes.  And of course he's fine after about 5 minutes.  It's just so sad to see.  I'll be curious to see if he does this next week when he goes back to the sitter's house.  I hope not!!

  • Your older ds?  Ugh, I thought it was a younger kid thing, that sucks.  Hopefully it will pass quickly for you both.

  • It probably has something to do with the change in routine and the holidays getting him all out of whack.  Reed usually goes to bed by 8pm really well and ever since Christmas night it has been a huge ordeal to get him to go to sleep.  He has been going to sleep at 9:30-10 after one of us sitting in the hall where he can see us.  I am hoping things change tonight or our babysitter is in trouble on NYE.

I was going to go with change in routine, too. He'll probably take a day to get back to normal when you drop him off at your regular sitter next week, but then be totally fine.
