DH and I bought a humidifier for our bedroom last night. I have it on a medium setting which produces a small mist that you can see. No less than three times this morning have I got a glimpse of the mist out of the corner of my eye and my heart jumped thinking it's smoke from a fire.

Re: I'm Starting to Believe Baby Brain Is Not a Myth
i've only locked myself out of the house twice... and it happened within a matter of weeks between... and i was pregnant with my second
how could it not be true? with being sick and tired, and nesting and getting prepared for baby... not much brain power left for anything else!
I actually read in DHs book "The Expectant Father" that a pregnant woman's brain actually loses 3-5% functionality or something like that. I was not happy reading that.
ETA: Spelling - baby brain in full force apparently!
I have always been a fan of to do lists but lately its become a necessity! The smallest things I can't remember now so I totally believe that Baby Brain is real and have been telling friends/family LOL
My first and favorite moment? Making a reservation for my BF, her DH, my DH, and I to go to brunch-we waited a half an hour at the wrong place and missed our reservation and the place closed to set up for lunch
The whole time my BF and her DH were waiting for us at the right place! A few other little ones after that and I have made myself write down or put an alarm on my phone for any appointments or things that need done!
I almost just proved your point by replying to this post with my baby names. I threw away the mortgage checks instead of putting them in the mailbox. Fortunately, somehow I remembered it the following day and was able to retrieve them before the trash went out. Yesterday I went shopping on my lunch break and forgot my purse. I have also left my purse at a couple restaurants but DH was looking out for me. I handle emergency dispatch at work and cannot multitask anymore. If I don't take care of something as soon as it comes in I completely forget, and if I don't cross a call off my list once I give it out I end up dispatching the same person twice for a call. And this is just my short list. I feel like I've lost more like 25-50% of my brain functionality.
I feel like my brain is mush. I usually have a pretty much word-for-word memory for conversations, even a week later (which is awesome for winning arguments with DH), but now I forget things he tells me moments later.
Also, the other day I felt like my dress wasn't fitting right, not in the belly, but in the shoulders. About half way through the morning, something was itching the front of my neck, and I realized it was the tag. Totally had my dress on backwards for hours.
At my 10 & 14 week check-ups I forgot to catch my urine in the cup. Went straight into the toilet! Why do I keep forgeting, espically since the nurse had just told me 1 minute prior to write my name on a cup and catch it. Hopefully next time I will manage to remember. Sad thing is- I am a nurse!!!
