Pregnant after IF

Good Morning, Chicago Ladies!

I am currently living in Chicago and finally ready to start IVF.  Will you please recommend your RE's?  How many cycles of fresh and frozen embryo transfers did it take to get you pregnant?

Did anyone use the Advanced Fertility Center of Chicago?  I don't know much about them, but whenever I google anything their website comes right up.

Re: Good Morning, Chicago Ladies!

  • My RE is Dr. Brian Kaplan at Fertility Centers of Illinois. He is out of the River North office, but they have offices all over the chicagoland area. For IVF, the ER and ET are done in Highland Park, but all monitoring appts. can be done in the River North office.

We prepped for IVF, but got lucky on our "hail mary" IUI. I can not say enough good things about everyone in the FCI offices. The nurses, the front desk, the U/S techs, the doctors.. everyone was so organized and kind.

     Good luck!

  • I highly recommend Advanced Fertility, and you'll find in your research that their IVF success rates blow other local clinics away.  We got pg with on our 1st cycle with them.  Both Dr. S (who did our IVF) and Dr. D (who did my last surgery) are great.  Their office is in Gurnee, so it's a ways north of Chicago, but totally worth the drive.  I had really bad experiences with several other local clinics, which I can tell you about if you are interested.  Best of luck!

  • I'm seeing Dr. Rapisarda at the Fertility Centers of Illinois (FCI), Buffalo Grove office, and he's been great. I know some people feel like FCI is big and impersonal, but I haven't found the Buffalo Grove office to be like that at all. The nurses ALWAYS promptly return phone calls, which is a really big deal for me, and I have never had a problem setting up an appointment.

I haven't done IVF (just got my BFP on Monday after Clomid + IUI and really hope this is it!), but I think that they do IVF only at their Highland Park and River North clinics. Good luck to you with whatever you decide!

  • I responded on IF, but I will also say, before switching to Advanced, I went to InviaFertiity in Hoffman Estates and was NOT happy there....at all.  Its probably too long of a hike for you anyways, but thought I would throw that out there.

    GL with your decision!

  • Crispity, congrats on the BFP!  Very exciting!  Thanks for sharing your experience in Buffalo Grove.

Mamabear:  Thanks for the info. I have very little time to waste.
