For some reason today the lobby at the RE's office is full of kids! And this one couple has their 6 month old daughter with them and they are making a big show of and telling EVERYONE she is pregnant again. STFU already. My office doesn't allow kids in here so I'm not sure what's going on today...annoying!

Nice, like you need a reminder. I've only dealt with that once or twice at my RE's office, the rest of the time it hasn't been too bad.

I've always said they should have two waiting rooms, it stems from when I had my first M/C and I had to sit in my OB/GYN's office with five other women with baby bumps and children crawling all over the place while I had tears pouring down my face.

WOW! That is rediculous and I am so sorry. What a way to piss someone off right as they are going in to have work done. Not good! Reminds me of when my OB sent me to a different floor for a second opinion on my MC, (they always get a 2nd opinion). The waiting area had about 20 couples, some had kids with them and most of the women looked 8-9 months along. I thought they might have a little compassion and push me to the front of the wait list, but no. I had to wait there with all these blissed-out folks, some of whom had the nerve to complain about how swollen and tired they were for about 40 minutes. It's adding insult to injury! Again, I am so sorry. Do something nice for yourself when you're done. You've earned it today!

Ugghh, you would think of all places, there would be an unspoken golden rule at an RE's office of NOT flaunting that. I wish you could submit a cell phone video of that to STFU parents (www.stfuparents.tumblr.com). I'm sorry you have to deal with that Madelyn.

I understand that sometimes ppl have to bring their kids for lack of other options, but please have the decency to sit out of the way.

Since they don't allow kids, I'd think that asking to wait in a separate area is a completely valid request. What asshats.

Mine never strictly prohibited kids, but they said to come to the monitoring appointments alone because it gets very crowded and they want to have room for everyone. You wouldn't believe how many husbands and children were in the waiting room every morning. I was like really? They can't go in the room with you for your bloodwork or ultrasound, so why on earth would you bring them?

OMG!!!!!! THAT IS INSANE! I have never been there and they had kids in the lobby- at the huntsville, or bham locations...wtf? Go ask to wait somewhere else.

That stinks.. I had to deal with a couple of ladies that were on my cycle for IVF #2- it was horrible. I just can't believe how quick ladies with IF forget how hard it is for us prior to having a child!!

Thanks ladies. The worst part was her flaunting the baby and the pregnancy. There was a drug rep waiting there, too, and she was going into detail with him about everything! And her husband was there, too. There actually is two waiting areas, one on each side of the door and the kids were split between the two areas..WTF...

Thats not right -- esp if its a couple -- the father should take the kiddo else where. What irks me is they have been there, why not be a tad more sensitive about it.

Yikes! That really sucks. My RE has a "no kids" policy too. I've only seen one lady in there with a kid (twice), but she sat as far away from everyone as possible, turned the kid's stroller facing the wall, and the kid had some portable dvd player with headphones to entertain her (she was probably 3). I thought the lady was really trying to be as sensitive as she could. Of course, the second time I saw her in there, she was talking to the kid about going to see grandma and grandpa after the appointment, so then I couldn't figure out why the kid didn't just go there while the mom was at her appointment!

There have been a few times where DH and I have gone to one of my appointments and we had my 6 year old stepdaughter with us - those couple times, he dropped me off and he and SD waited in the car, armed with the iPad and iPod to play with! There's no way I'm going to be "that woman"!

Sorry you had to deal with that today, hon!
