I showered the day after my c/s. I had stitches and could get them wet without any problems. I had a myomectomy surgery years ago with staples and I could shower after that as well.

Not everyone gets staples. I had Dermabond on the outside. Basically they stitched up my insides and then glued my skin back together. So I never had steri strips or staples that needed removing.

Yes, the next day a nurse will come help you shower. You won't be able to stand up straight or walk the first day. The second day you pretty much look hunched over like and old man.
Yup I was asked to shower by my dr to make sure I could get up and stand for a period of time. I was a little lightheaded but my husband was there helping. I did not have staples either all internal stitches which were wonderful! They did end up putting butterfly stitches on the outside to help it seal in certain spots but it was still ok

I showered the day after my csection. I had staples and steri strips. Unlike, pp I did not need any help from my husband or nurse. I was sore, etc. but I felt sooooo much better after that shower.
I showered after. I didn't use help though, but let me warn you, I put my hands up to wash my hair pretty quick and literally let out a yelp in pain. It was awful. So if you're gonna wash your own hair, do so SLOWLY. Don't just throw your hands up in the air, it pulls on your stomach.

I showered the next day.
After my appendectomy I did have to cover the area with saran wrap when I showered, but I could still shower.
Yes, you can shower.

Like PP's stated yes. I was begging to get the cath out and take a shower the next day since I had already been at the hospital for so long.
A nurse helped me the whole time and I sat on a chair. I had staples and they got wet so it must be ok.
