I think the flu shot is really...

...a scam produced by spammers.  I think it implants a chip that sends spammers information about our daily lives so they can freak us out in our inbox.

Example 1:  I saw a commercial on Christmas day for those iRenew bracelets.  The family and I made fun of the whole deal.  Every day since Christmas I've gotten spam to buy one of those stupid things.  I've not googled it or even mentioned it online at all.

Example 2:  Bill and I were talking last night about possibly starting the puppy search for another papillon in the spring.  Again, I didn't google anything or mention it online until right now.  This morning, 2 spam emails on puppy buying sites.

I'm kinda freaked out right now.

    Definitely freaky, I think that you may be onto something!

    A friend of ours has a similar theory about camera phones - he always turns his cell face down (so that the camera lens is facing the tabletop) because he thinks that the government is watching us through them. It's not an entirely impossible theory...
