Well, I was talking to my sister today about my Dr. appt yesterday and I was telling her I don't think I've had any contractions because the nurse described them as an overall tightening in the stomach or that it could present as discomfort in the back that wraps around the front. I replied with well then, I don't think I've had any contractions yet, because I haven't felt that. After talking to my sister she described it as a feeling as if the baby is bracing itself against your back and pushing itself straight out against your stomach. Guess I have been having them since about thirty weeks and thought it was just the baby stretching.
Re: Just found out what contractions feel like...
hmm, they feel different for everyone.
Mine never feel like that. My real ones start in my back as a tightening ache, wraps around to my belly and go down my thighs.
It makes it hard to breathe and move.
I often feel the baby stretching out but I don't consider that a contraction. A true contraction you will feel your whole belly tighten up. To push on it will feel different all over, not just in one spot.
I'm just figuring this out too. Though from what I'm told the BH contractions are much different than the real deal. Makes sense because these are tolerable.
