I just stopped taking Depo after nearly 2 years. I was wondering if anyone has TTC after Depo and how long it took. My Dr. told me that it could take up to a year to regulate again. Any advise or words of wisdom from someone who has been sucessful this way would be very much appreciated!
Re: TTC after Depo
I have never been pg, but I took me about 3 months to get back to a regular cycle when I stopped using depo about 2 years ago. I later went on the pill and thats what I was on up until October when we decided to ttc. I know that doesn't answer your question completely, but it gives you an idea of how long it took someone to get regular again after depo.
Well, I've never been on Depo nor have I been "successful"
but I think this advice is still pretty good.

Depo is definitely a whole different ballgame from the other kinds of BC out there. I was on it 10 years, and have picked up this information:
1) They tell you that it can take 1 year, but at 1 year 25% of women still have enough of it in them to prevent pregnancy, even if your cycle has returned.
2) It takes up to 2 years to have the same chances of pregnancy that someone has who has never been on BC, vs. the one year it takes pill users.
Personal experience:
I did not get my next shot in January. Middle of April I spotted for a few days, then 28 days later got my first real period. I had an anovulatory cycle in May, and have ovulated ever since then with 23-26 days cycles.
I did take Vitex for April and May to help cycle return and assist with the horrible cramping. I also did acupuncture for 3 cycles in there which I am sure helped regulate ovulation.
I am now on cycle 10 with no BFP in sight, but I am also a large lady so that could be impeding things as well.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
