Re: Recipes

  • This is my all time favorite crock pot recipe.

    SALSA CHICKEN

    4 thawed chicken breasts

    1 jar of salsa

    1 can of corn

1 can of drained black beans

    1 packet taco seasoning (optional)

Dump it all in there, low for 6-8 hours or high 4-6 hours

About an hour or so before it's done, take the breasts out and shred them with two forks. Put it back in and finish cooking.

Some friends of mine like to serve it over rice, I like to serve it soft taco style on tortillas with sour cream, olives and lots of cheeeeeeese! This recipe will last two people a few days.

  • I like making pulled pork in the crock pot.  It is super easy!  I just buy a pork roast (usually a pork butt) and throw in in the crock pot on low for 8 hours.  I season it with pepper, garlic, and the Melting Pot's wine seasoning.  When I get home I shred it with a fork and pour bbq sauce and Frank's hot sauce on it.  My husband and I like hot food so I use quite a bit, but adjust it to your taste.
  • I like making Italian Beef. Take a 3-4 pound Beef Chuck Roast, packet of italian dressing mix, jar of pepperocinis and cook on low for 8 hours.  Shred beef with two forks and serve on hoagie with provolone or swiss cheese.  You can use left over beef in tacos, just add a little taco seasoning when reheating.
  • I made this tonight and it was amazing! DH and I were practically licking our plates. The gravy was a little salty though, from the french onion soup mix I guess.
