Random musings - which do you think is worse? Waiting to O, or the 2WW?

I honestly think waiting to O is worse... the stress of "catching it" and having good timing to maximize your chances.  

Once you O, it still sucks waiting to test and over-analyzing every pinch, twinge, and random phantom symptom in your body, but it's all downhill.  

July 20th, 2012: Never forget the day the fb douchebags tried so hard, but ultimately failed. Viva la October 2011! Yeah, I called you douchebags.

    I think waiting to O is worse. My cycles are funky so I never know how long it's going to take! Last cycle was 59 loooooooong days!

    Probably the 2ww. During waiting to O time I still have a hopeful feeling...but during the 2ww if I don't experience any phantom symptoms I become a real downer.

    I disagree.  I find days 2-17 blissfully peaceful.  I can forget about ttc and pee without worrying about getting my fingers wet with the stupid cup.

    Then the first week dpo, I am fine, but it all goes to heil from there.

    Agreed! Waiting to O is way more stressful. The 2WW stinks, and the time just seems to drag, but there's a lot less work to do! Wink

    I think the last few days of the 2WW is the worst for me.  That is when I start to obsess and over analyze everything!

    Waiting to O I think. Since my Ob/Gyn now dosent think I am Oing it SUCKS! Grrrr! lol

    Although it was pretty bad in the 2ww when I though I was! Huh? Such is my life. Oh well

    I think the 2ww is worse. ?There's nothing left to do at that point but wait and over analyze. ?

    5/17/11 SA- count 38 mil, low motility, traces of white blood cells (2 weeks antibiotics)
    6/16/11 SA- count 23 mil, low motility, referred to urologist
    dx varicocele
    DH ultrasound
    6/27/11 SA- count 101 mil, 36% motility, 5% morphology
    IUI #1 50 mg Clomid: Back -2- back: 7/27/11 & 7/28/11 = BFN
    IUI #2 100 mg Clomid: Back -2- back: 8/25/11 & 8/26/11= BFN
    IVF #1(Ganirelix, Follistim, Menopur) ER 11/16/11,ET 11/21/11= BFP 11/29

    I think Waiting to O is harder. My O date ranges from cd 16-20, so I'm always wondering wth is going on/when it will happen.

    Definitely waiting to O - since my cycles never seem to be consistent.

    Started TTC #1: July 2010 DX: PCOS
    BFP: 12/5/10 Natural M/C: 12/17/10 (5w6d)
    Cycle 10 - 50mg Clomid + TI = BFN
    Cycle 11 - 50mg Clomid + IUI converted to TI = BFN
    Cycle 12 - 50mg Clomid + IUI #1 = BFN
    Cycle 13 - Clomid Break + Charting + Dr. Recommendations = BFN
    Cycle 14 - Clomid Break + Charting + meeting with URO (all clear!) = BFP!!
    Beta #1 - 105 Beta #2 - 336! 1st U/S (@5w4d)- gest. sac and yolk sac, measuring 5w2d 2nd U/S - 1/16 (will be 8w2d) Stick and grow, little bean! My Ovulation Chart

    It's a toss up for me. Waiting to O is stressful b/c of trying to time sex perfectly. The beginning of the 2ww is the best for me b/c there's still a bit of hope that maybe **this** was the cycle. But then once I realize I'm out and I'm just waiting for AF at the end of the 2ww, I get all stabby, and that's no fun. :P

    I used to think 2WW was worse, for exactly the reasons PPs have given.  Now that we've been trying a while, the excitement of looking forward to fertile sex while waiting to O has recently turned into a very stressful time for both DH and me, which is increasingly resulting in some performance anxiety, which then causes more stress.  Plus I'm a raging emotional ball of hormones before O, which does not help matters.  At least during the 2WW there's nothing for us to fvck up...

    (I'm feeling a little stressed right now, can you tell?)

    Yes  My last cycle was 49 days, once O finally happens, it's a relief.

    I used to have long and crazy cycles so it was definitely waiting to O, but now my cycles are short so I guess the 2WW.  Mostly because I just KNOW that I am not pg and get anxious to start a new cycle.

    I think the 2ww waiting after O is the worse!! I waste soo much money on pregnancy test, wanting to pee on them constantly thinking that MAYBE this time it will be Positive!! This cycle I am going to TRY to wait till my missed period!  We will see haha!!

    8/11 Clomid 50mg=BFN progesterone level 35,

    12/11 Clomid 50mg=Progesterone 31
    01/12-Break from meds-BFN
    Feb-cd3 blood work FSH(5), AMH(0.56) 02/12 Break....
    03/01/12-Clomid 50mg with IUI #1=BFN.
    04/01/12-Another round of clomid with IUI#2=BFN.
    5/8/12-Diagnostic Laparoscopy-found minimal endometriosis and small fibriod.
    June and July-much needed break
    August-Bravelle 75 with IUI#3- BFN
    September-Bravelle injects with IUI #4-BFP!! MC 10/7/12 : ( Sonohysterogram-Normal
    December- Bravelle(3 good follicles & E2 1252) with IUI#5 BFFN :*(
    July IVF #1- BFP! : )  Beta #1-245, #2- 703, #3- 1655, #4- 3553 YAY!  Praying and Praying this one sticks around!
                      1st U/S scheduled for Aug 23rd!

    Definitely waiting to O; it is so nerve wrecking. The 2WW is full of lurking the tri- boards and month boards with new phantom symptoms each cycle and it all around sucks, but I'll take the 2WW any day over waiting to O.

    For me it is waiting to O for sure! But that may be because I very rarely O and I'm always nervous about missing it. For example this time I didn't O until CD 52. I've enjoyed the last week and a half not having to pee on anything to try and catch my surge.

    Waiting to O is the worst for me b/c I worry that it won't happen.  At least during the 2WW my nervous energy is a bit more passive.

Me: 35; DH: 34 DX: DOR, egg quality issues ; DH - all normal FSH 10.1, Estradiol 21.8, AMH 0.49 IVF #1 (Oct/Nov 2011) (Antagonist with BCP's)- 5R, 0 eggs to transfer CD3 b/w by same RE 1/2012: FSH 6, AMH 1.4...wtf?? IVF #2 (Apr 2012) EPP/Antagonist with ICSI - 10R, 7M, 6 ICSI'd, 2F. 3DT = BFN AMH tested by new RE 6/2012 - 2! Saving money for IVF #3. Started a ton of supplements in May 2012 and hoping for a miracle! SURPRISE BFP!! (October 2012)

    For me, waiting to O is much worse! I get so stressed out about timing things right. The 2ww is just waiting. I can do waiting ;)

    This is only my first full month of charting (therefore knowing for sure if/when I O), but I think that waiting to O is worse for me because it seems so far away till I might find out if I'm KU.  But the 2ww is bad because I just want to poas all the time!  Haha!

    definately the 2WW. Before you O you know your not pregnant and your not wondering when you feel sick or tired. But in that 2WW im worried about if I am pregnant and if i am should I be being more careful? im a worry wart lol

    Yes, this! But maybe that is because I have been Oing consistently on days 13-15, so I don't get too worried about timing.

    2ww for sure.  My cycle is long (32 days) but regular and it's easy for me to know when I'm O'ing, where as the 2ww is just wondering and hoping and feels likg forever!

    Waiting to O is worse for me. I have been peeing on OPK's like a mad woman and trying to decipher the darkness of the lines. I think the 2WW will be a little easier...hopefullySmile

    For me, it depends on which part of my cycle I'm in... If I'm waiting to O, I think I'd rather be in the 2WW... If I'm in the 2WW, I'm wishing I was waiting to O...

    BFP#2 11/20/12, EDD 7/30/13 ~ heard heartbeat at 6w2d ~ mmc discovered at 8w
    1st medicated cycle ~ 6/11/13 ~ Clomid ~ BFN
    2nd medicated cycle ~ 7/12/13 ~ Clomid and trigger shot ~ BFN
    SHG on 8/13/13 ~ uterus looked good!
    Diagnosed with DOR on 8/16/13 ~ AMH 0.27 ~ repeat AMH 0.19

    Waiting to O has been because of DH sensitivity problems and not being able to finish. Since we have agreed to do EOD inseminations with the preseed applicator (think turkey-baster style Wink) it has been much more peaceful, with sex just being fun and knowing that the sperm will get to where it needs to go when it needs to get there.

    Waiting to O is the worst! I hate it... Esp since I never know when it is coming.  The 2ww is like a break for me. I actually relax!
