I've been 2 cm and 50% effaced for the past couple weeks, and today I'm 3 cm (still 50%). It's not much, but it gives me a little hope.

I've been walking 30-45 minutes a day, and I had a ton of contractions on Christmas day...so I'm guessing one of those things helped me dilate a bit. Anyway, I'm sure this has been asked before, and being a 2nd time mom I should know this, but is it possible to be 3 cm dilated and still have your mucus plug? I haven't noticed losing it, and trust me, I've been looking. Stick out tongue

I've heard of a woman delivering her baby and the mucus plug was on the baby's head! You won't necessarily lose it before labour.

It can also come out gradually, and you don't notice it.
