Q about ebay

in 2nd Trimester

I've never bid on anything from ebay before and I'm confused.

If I see something I want and it has no bids on it and I bid something ridiculous like 1$, will I get the item for 1$ if noone else bids? Or can they reject a bid?

    if you bid on it for $1 and no one else bids and you win the auction, you pay a dollar- be careful to pay attention to shipping costs cause a lot of times people will sell something dirt cheap and hike up the shipping to something ridiculous to make money---  also, e bay can be very very addicting!!!!!!! have fun!

    Thanks! I did look at the shipping and it is ridiculous but still worth it if I get the bid for 1$ or less!

    There is a minimum bid though like some have a minimum of $15 or whatever and you have to bid the minimum. If no one outbids you then you win.

    Some items have a reserve, which is the minimum that a seller will let the item go for - that will be clear when you bid, though.  If it lets you bid $1 and nobody else bids, it's yours.  If the item still has a long time to go, though, watch it to make sure you bid higher if you want!

    If it's something I really want, I'll 'watch' it and then check it before the bid ends and bid then. Great ploy the use when they charge a dollar for the item and a large amount to ship. It's just that sellers way to make their money.
