Re: Anyone deliver at Winchester Hospital?

  • I know it's such  a bummer to go through a major change of plans like that but you'll love Winchester.  I had 2 babies there and LOVED it.  The nurses are all so awesome--very caring, helpful and engaged in their work.  With baby #1, I was so nervous because I had never even changed a diaper.  They patiently taught me everything I needed to know, and I felt confident leaving there.  If you thinking about breast feeding, DEFINITELY go to the lactation consultant's class.  She's been doing it for ever and clearly loves her job.  She was an amazing help.  I also loved the jacuzzi when I was in labor (I had 2 med-free births).  With baby #2, the nurses were more hands-off because I knew what I was doing by that point, but still happy to help in any way.  I can't rave enough about Winchester.  Let me know if you have any questions and good luck!

  • I am delivering my 1st at Winchester in March.  However I have had some complications and had to be hospitalized for a week.  First I love my ob she is great but I was very impressed with the hospital.  MY gf had her baby at newton-wellesley and they offered a lot of great assistance for 1st time mom's and while I was in winchester I realized they offered all the same things.  Including quiet hours for you and your husband and baby to bond so people aren't in your room 24/7 ( i have family that lives close by) I think you will be really happy with your experience there. good luck
  • Loved WH for giving birth to my son, my OB/GYN is from Winchester OB/GYN Dr Bose and she is great.  The only complaint...which really isn't the end of the world...is that I have At&t and the cell phone reception was really spotty in my room.  I'm not really too much of a phone person but it was a bit hard when I wanted to have DH grab something at home while he was there.  You won't be there long enough for it to be a big deal anyway!

    Best of luck!!!

  • I will be delivering there in May.  7 of my nieces and nephews were born there and my sisteers all had great experiences with those births. I also know many other people who have delivered there and have NEVER heard a complaint.

  • Hi- I need to find a doctor that delivers in Winchester Hospital. I just found out that I am pregnant and I know that a lot of my coworks went there, but I don't want them to know just yet. Any recommendations?
