if your AR baby is on prevacid (or generic)..please help!

DS was just switched about 3 weeks ago to generic prevacid from Zantac....the nurse told me 1/2 of a 15mg tablet twice a day. Well, I call the pharmacy to have it refilled and they said the prescription read 1/2 tablet once a day so it could not be refilled yet. I find the bag it came in and yes, it says once a day.  Sad

what dosage is your LO on? the nurse swears he's fine but I feel like a total failure for over medicating him. Sad No wonder he was feeling so good and becoming a happy baby!

    My LO has severe reflux and is on 1/2 of a 15mg tablet twice a day, and has been for several months. 
    bfp 5/17/09 - missed m/c 6/17/09 @ 9w - stopped growing 6w 1d, D&C 6/19/09
    BFP #2 10/13/2009 on our 2nd Wedding Anniversary
    Discovered TWINS during the 6w u/s - what a shocker!
    Delivered on 5/19/2010 at 34 weeks due to pre-e and HELLP syndrome

    We also do half a tab, twice a day. Some days he needs 1 1/2 tabs (GI said it was ok) You can't overdose a PPI medicine

    DD just stopped taking it this week, but she was on a full tab once a day.  Your LO will be just fine.  Hope it helps!  It was wonderful for DD.

    This. If your LO needs more, have your pedi call in a new prescription with the new dose.

    It's okay! Ds isn't on the pill but he gets 10mls a day. There have been a few really bad days where we gave him a little more. There's some documentation that actually encourages 7.5mls given twice a day. He's totally okay!!
