Trying to Get Pregnant

New to charting, O ?

First off, sorry if this is somewhat basic.  I am new to charting and was hoping for some insight.  Is it possible that my body geared up for ovulation and then failed?  I thought for sure it happened between cd 15 and 16 (my LH surge is sharp, based on past OPK's), but once I got a few more temps, FF pinned it to cd 17.  I know my LP is short, it has been the past three cycles.  This is actually the longest LP I've had since AF returned at 13 pp.  I'm only trying to figure this out to see if my LP is 7 days or if it was actually longer so I can compare at the end of this cycle.   We were hoping to TTC#2 once my cycle returned, but I think my LP is too short due to BF'ing.  Opinions?

Re: New to charting, O ?

  • Great question. FF has some FAQs for BFing moms: https://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Fertility-charting-while-breastfeeding.html

What happens if you change the analysis method to Research or FAM?  Do the CHs move?  The + OPK is throwing things off.

In any case, time will tell.  Sorry - you might just want to see what happens this cycle before jumping to any conclusions.  GL

  • It looks like you had a clear thermal shift.  I would say you O'd, just that your LP is short.  It does appear that you might have O'd CD16 rather than 17; not sure why FF pinned it on CD17.

  • I can't see previous charts, but your last one isn't complete enough to properly determine O. Good luck :)

Because it looks for three temps that are higher than the previous six before it will give you crosshairs.  In this case, there were no temps before that to consider. In this case, Rein's suggestion for changing detection mode might help?

  • Thanks everyone!  I know the chart isn't complete, I'm trying to do the best I can.  This is actually much more complete than my last ones, which is why you can't see them.  They are pretty much useless.  I've tried switching the interpretations and the O date doesn't change.  I was hoping to see if my LP is gradually getting longer.

  • I agree with rein - see what this cycle does before jumping to conclusions.
